OBE'S POEM - WAR

There is, possibly,no greater perversity than war.

Where savage lust's, hate, and violence brew in the cauldron of evil.

Shame, guilt, and fear are it's offspring.

Destruction, it's consequence.

All earth's creatures fight.

But "civilized" humanity wars in selfish indulgence.

Our tool, it's used with denial and ignorance;

tearing at the seams of love and sanity.

It grows;

the worst possible sickness and disease;

spewing obscenities unheard of.

Encompassing and enveloping,hellish.

We fight blindly,

swinging in stupidity and vengance.

Some survive with a peace and love foreign to those with this horrifying and life draining symbiant.

Some try to ignore it but are lost;

living and yet dead inside.

But some have a living faith in God.

They show there is more to life than what we know.

They have hope that goodness has been placed in this boiling chaos.

Foolishness, maybe.

But what else is there?

Can it be that we are the foolish ones after all?

So let us bless those foolish few.

For in their folly, they have undefeatable joy.
