essayist, actress, and author. She was a spokeswoman for Revlon cosmetics. Therefore,
she was the first black woman with a contract with a major cosmetics firm.
Her caring nature led her to become part of the
National Breast Cancer Coalition and serve on the board of LIFEbeat, an
organization combating AIDS.
I remember seeing her in an interview on a New York City TV program called
"Positively Black" on WNBC-TV. Veronica captivated the host with her wisdom.
