Thanks! *s* ================================================= My name is Patrick, but most people know me as The Mighty Patman, or Patman, or just Pat. My good friends call me Pat or Patman, so you can call me anything you like about now! ***quick silly smile*** Anyway, I'm 38 years old, I have 2 wonderful sons (Robby is 11 & Michael is 9), and living in Queens, New York. For the past 8 years I've been working as an office/warehouse/sales manager for a chemical distributor in Brooklyn, NY. And for those of you who require more stats about a guy like me, I'm 5'11" tall, 205lbs., brown hair/brown eyes, a Pieces, very down to earth, and a great sense of humor. All other information about me can vary greatly depending on our imagination during the conversation, because lets face it! NOBODY is that big! *lmao* ЕЕOR AM I? *evil grin* ================================================= ================================================= Do I have your attention yet?Е.. GOOD!!! *lol* ================================================= Musicwise, I love many different types. Most of all I love rock music. My preferences lean more towards hard rock, and alternative. But I'll always love the oldies and classic rock. My favorite music of all time is PINK FLOYD. To me, they put true meaning to the word ARTIST, because the songs that they write are true masterpieces! I have also recently become very "HOOKed" on BLUES TRAVELER. If you wanna hear talent, they are a fantastic source! ================================================= Personally, I am the type of guy that takes great pleasure in making people smile and laugh. I love making new friends and I have always believed laughter to be the best medicine. I'm also a very caring person, and I believe in my heart that honesty, understanding, trust, patience, respect, and love, are what TRUE friends are made of. And what I ask for in life is for people to experience positive feelings of happiness in my presence, and to feel that I am worthy of being a TRUE friend. I believe that kindness is very contagious, and I have been known to make a big difference in many of my friends lives. I also believe that it is better to give than to receive, and when it becomes my turn to receive, I only wish for myself, my family, and all who are dear to me to always be in Gods hands. *s* ================================================= Hey! What a dirty mind you have! *lol*) ================================================= Well, by now you must think I'm really nuts! But one thing that you probably didn't realize is that if anything you had just read on this homepage has made you smile, or laugh, or maybe if I'm lucky, fall over in your seat, then I have already succeeded in touching your heart. *smile* ================================================= SOME WORDS TO LIVE BY If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep. If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more. If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day. If I knew it would be the last time I could spare an extra minute or two to stop and say, "I love you," instead of assuming, you would KNOW I do. If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day, well I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let just this one slip away. For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight And we always get a second chance to make everything right. There will always be another day to say our "I love you's", And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do's?" But just in case I might be wrong and today is all I get, I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight. So if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today, for if tomorrow never comes, you'll surely regret the day, that you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss and you were too busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish. So hold your loved ones close today, whisper in their ear, Tell them how much you love them and that you'll always hold them dear. Take time to say "I'm sorry," "please forgive me," "thank you" or "it's okay". And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today. ================================================= Long Distance Love! Loving from a distance is never easy, When you are living so very far apart. But each mile that separates two people who truly care, Is joined together with the love each feels in their heart. The loneliness you feel when you are not together, Can eat away at you deep inside. When you miss the one who you want to share your life with, And they are not able to be by your side. Have trust in each other's feelings, And believe that they do feel the same way as you. When you can not be with one another, So easy it is to doubt whether their love is really true. Need to keep your faith that you have in each other, And never let go of your trust. Sometimes that is not so easy to do, But for your peace of mind, it really is a must. Think of one another's emotional needs, So the other always knows that you do care. Make the most of the time that you can have together, And open your hearts and share. Respect one another will sometimes need some space, But it doesn't mean they don't want you around. We all need some time on our own at times, Never meaning we no longer need the love we have found. Do not let the seeds of jealousy, Begin growing deep inside your heart. Because if you let this happen without good cause, Your relationship will surely be doomed to fall apart. Be honest and open with how you are feeling, And never lead the other one on. It is unfair to play on another person's feelings, And then turn around one day, and be gone. Never give up on your love, And hold on to what you are feeling in your heart. For a love that is sincere, and strong, Will be held together, no matter how far you are apart. ================================================= What is Autism? ----------------- Autism is a developmental disability that typically appears during the first 3 years of life. The result of a neurological disorder that affects functioning of the brain, autism and its associated behaviors occur in approximately 15 of every 10,000 individuals. Autism knows no racial, ethnic, or social boundaries. Family income, lifestyle, or educational levels do not affect the chance of occurrance. Autism interferes with the normal development of the brain in areas which control verbal & non-verbal communication, social interaction, and sensory development. Children or adults with autism may exhibit repeated body movements such as hand flapping and rocking, show unusual responses to people or attachments to objects, and resist changes in routine. In some cases, aggressive and/or self-injurious behavior may be present. Autism is often referred to as a spectrum disorder, meaning the symptoms and characteristics of autism can present themselves in a wide variety of combinations, from mild to severe. Although autism is defined by a certain set of behaviors, children and adults can exhibit any combination of the behaviors in any degree of severity. 2 children, both with a diagnosis of autism, can act very differently from one another. Several old theories about the cause of autism have been proven false. Autism is not a mental illness. Children with autism are not unruly kids with a behavior problem. Autism is not caused by bad parents who gave their child too little attention. Most importantly, no known factors in the psychological environment of a child have been shown to cause autism. It is conservatively estimated that 400,000 people in the U.S. today have some form of autism. It's prevalence rate now places it as the 3rd most common developmental disability - more common than down's syndrome. Yet the majority of the public, including many professionals in the medical, educational, and vocational fields are still unaware of how autism affects people and how to work with individuals with autism.
