For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16

Today ask yourself one question. "If I were to die today, would I go straight to heaven?" How did you answer that question? If you answered yes, are you really sure of your answer? The good news is that you really can be absolutely certain of your answer. If you would like to be able to answer yes, read on. The bible tells us that "we have all sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23). There is no such thing as a big sin or a little sin, in God's eyes, sin is sin. There is only one punishment for sin, "for the wages of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23) but there is hope in that same verse, for it goes on to tell us that "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ..."

So what do we have to do to deserve this gift? The answer is not to be found in doing good deeds, or sacrifices, or through prayer, nor can you find salvation through faithful church attendance. It can only be found one way, Romans 5:1 says "We are justified through faith." and Romans 3:22 states "the righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe." You see, we cannot save ourselves, through anything we do, but there is someone who paid that price of death for us. That person is Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to pay the price for our sins. We "are justified freely through the redemption that came by Jesus Christ. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement through faith in his blood" (Romans 3:22,24)

You may be asking yourself "why would God do that for me?" You may even be saying to yourself "You don't understand, God could never forgive me for all the bad things I have done." The answer is contained in scripture. John 3:16,17 states that "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."

Would you like to know that your sins are forgiven, that the penalty for your sins has been paid? If you answered yes, please pray this simple prayer with me. "Lord Jesus, I have sinned. I am unable to save myself from the penalty for my sins. I accept Lord, this day, that you have paid the price for my sins when you hung on the cross. I ask you Lord Jesus to come into my life, to touch me and to fill me with your Spirit. Thank you Jesus that you loved me enough to come to earth and pay the price for my sins. This day here and now, I ask you to become Lord of my life, and I will follow you all the days of my life."

If you have said that prayer, and meant it in your heart, you may be assured that our Father in heaven has heard you and that you are now a child of God. Romans 10:9,10 tells us "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. The next step is to find a church that is serving God. I am not talking about a denomination, but about a church, any church that acknowledges Jesus as Lord and Savior. It is important that you seek out the fellowship and support of Christian brothers and sisters. If you have any questions, or need help finding a church please feel free to E-Mail me. I will answer you as soon as possible.
