TITLE: RAK-A-TEK
ARTIST: WILL SOLIMAN

Mid-East Percussionist and world class drummer Will Soliman began his music career at the tender age of 13 where he started playing pots, pans and just about anything else that created noise! Will, who was born in the suburbs of New Jersey was a performer from the start. "I can remember times where I'd set up these small little shows in my house during the holidays. We'd invite people over, make costumes and create this variety show", says Will who purchased his first drum at the age of 13 and hasn't stopped since. "I'd sit in my room and practice, practice...and practice. Sometimes as much as 11 hours a day!" At the age of 16, already proficient at the Middle Eastern drums, Will began performing at parties, weddings and concerts.

Will, now 22, has worked with some of the best musicians and singers in the Middle East world touring both internationally and across the United States. Rak-A-Tek's explosive rhythmic feel comes from Will's background as a Middle Eastern percussionist. Rak-A-Tek is the first dance album to successfully blend Middle-Eastern percussion and traditional Western dance beats. There are basically three types of drums in the Middle East. They are the tabla, dof, and riq. Unlike his counterparts, Will utilizes these drums in a revolutionary way, forever changing their role.

So, what's next? Will plans on revolutionizing western dance music as we know it. "My future goals include incorporating Middle-Eastern drums in popular dance music. I'd love to work with artists willing to expand their horizons, taking their music to the next level. Dance music will never be the same again as we know it."
