The Light

I once was blind, there was no light.
He left me there, that cold dark night.
I was alone, no one for me,
but then you crawled out of the sea.

You showed me how to love again,
showed me that you loved me when,
I cried, I screamed, and ran away,
you held my hand, every day.

Our love has more, that rain drops do,
it means much more than me and you.
Together, we will always be,
in the stars, you with me.

Your hands are gold, radiant in sun,
you've picked me up, he has not won.
He will never be the man you are,
he couldn't do it, not by far.

I once was blind, but now I see,
how much you have given me.
I'm sorry about the pain I gave,
when my soul you tried to save.

I once was blind, I once was lost.
By the shores I was tossed.
I was blind, that cold dark night,
but now I see, that you're my light.
