The children of St. Eugene’s School collected almost 1,200 items of canned food goods for the “ You Can Make A Difference Day.” These cans were delivered to The Sharing Community, Inc. This company was founded in 1983 by the St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church and St. John’s Episcopal Church. Thank you for all your support and cooperation. We’d also like to thank Mrs. Devaney for organizing this food drive.

St. Eugene's Wins First Place in Academic Olympics
Grade eight students in St. Eugene’s School and other grammar schools in Yonkers and Mount Vernon competed in the Sacred Heart High School Academic Olympics. This took place on Saturday October 19, 2002. St. Eugene’s School sent six team members to compete in the Academic Olympics. St. Eugene’s School Team received first place in the competition. The following students were recognized for their good work, effort, and achievement.
Christian Espinal won first place in Religion.
John Franco Schirripa won first place in Mathematics.
Daniel Villani won first place in Computer.
Mary Adely won second place in Science.
Kimberly Ayeo won first place in Language Arts.
Irene Benny won second place in Social Studies.
Special congratulations to the students and teachers of St. Eugene’s School. I am sure we are all proud and happy for all the students who competed in the Academic Olympics.
