Internet Friend Committing Suicide?
I have an internet friend (he's 16) who told me a few days
ago he was going to kill himself in about a month and a half.
Although I've talked to him about it a little bit, he won't tell
anybody in his town so he can get help. When I talk to him, he seems
happy enough, but I know he's really not. It seems as if he really
wants to talk about it, but doesn't want any help. The only solution
I can think of is to somehow call his parents, tell them who I am and
that their son is considering suicide. Do you have any other
suggestions on what to do or say to him?

Sorry to say this, but it's sooo easy to lie in cyberspace, and make it
sound REAL. Have you ever met this guy in person? Sure, it sounds like
he's telling the truth, but he might be lying, and taking oyu as a fool.
If this isn't the case, and you TRULY believe that he's telling the
truth, tell him you mean a lot to him, and that you won't bear to lose
him. Ask him WHY he's goin to do this, and what's causing him to go to
such an extreme extent. If he still wants to take his life, write me
back asap, and we'll figure it out.

You should call this guy's parents. If he IS suicidal you could be saving someone's life!!! Even if he is lieing, it is important to at least tell his parents because suicide is nothing to joke about. If you do talk to your friend again, tell him that you care about him and you don't want lose him. Don't tell him that you are going to tell his parents, however, because if he is considering suicide, he might take action earlier than he said when knowing that his parents are aware of this. Do the right thing and tell his parents, you'll be glad you did. Best of luck.

Well, I think at all possible you could try to get a hold of his
parents. You could ask him Why aren't you happy? Did I do something?
Then tell him that he is too young to die. He just begun life. Also
maybe he might be pulling your leg or maybe that day that you talked
to him he might of been depressed. Everyone has atleast one day that
they feel like if they kill themselves it will make all the problems
go away. When really it doesn't. Tell him I don't want you to die
who will I talk to on the internet?-
