MXS Motocross
Welcome to the MX portion of MXS.
My name is Mark Krueger and I am a semi-retired MXer. I started
racing when I was 11, in 1986. My first bike was a very SLOW,
but new 1985 Kawasaki KDX 80. Later during my first year of racing
my parents bought a KX 60 for my younger brother, who then decided
he didn't want to race, so I raced that too. That KX 60 was soooo
much faster than the KDX 80.
But then life got better as I got a new 1987 CR 80. This bike was
fast, even if I wasn't. I won a couple of races, but mostly placed
in the top 5 (closer to 5 than 1). I raced this for 2 years when I
decided to try to move up to the 125. I had raced my cousin's 1987
CR 125 a few times and liked it. But because of finanical
difficulties, I was forced to stop racing. It didn't help that I
sold my 3 bikes to try to raise money for the 125 and still didn't
have enough.
And now, some 10 years later, I am trying to get back into racing.
My cousin and I went to a race the first weekend in September, and
I raced in the 125 Novice class. Having not ridden a bike in 10
years, it took a few minutes to remember what I was doing, but
you never truly forget how to ride. I ended up placing 18th out
40 riders. And now I am looking for a used 125 to begin racing
again.
