ABBA is guaranteed suicide prevention. Even if you were depressed enough to slit your wrists while listening to Dancing Queen, you wouldn't want to be found dead with ABBA in your CD player.
Now, Tori can be downright depressing at times, but the woman is a survivor....and an inspiration. She really speaks to me man!! Plus she's gorgeous and kicks ass live.
The Cure is so legendary......they are the sort of band that I could listen to for days straight. They make me laugh they make me cry they make me sing in the shower. Oh yeah, and I really want to take Robert Smith out for Ice Cream.
I was lucky enough to have gone to the October '97 ICP show at The Trocadero in Philly. I got to chill with my homeboy Dink and get drenched in orange Faygo. Generally, rap is not my cup-o-tea, but for these guys I will make an exception. They are sick fucks, and I like them.
I saw JOJ open for The Lords of Acid (also at The Troc in Philly) and fell head over heels in love with them immeadiately. In a nut shell, THEY ROCK HARD. Check them out if you haven't already.
Korn.....what to say about Korn.....I love listening to Ball Tongue first thing in the morning. Jonathan Davis has some serious issues.
The Toc with JOJ....I got to dance on stage....Jade4U took my shirt off...I was in front of tons of people...some of whom i knew....embarrasing a little...exhilarating alot.
I have been fortunate enough to see this amazing band live on three seperate occasions. I even got to meet the band twice. I love Theo (the lead singer) she is my dream woman. A very dear friend, Jeff Cohn took me to see them in NYC on a boat for his birthday in 1997, an incredible experience to say the least. Thanks Jeff!!
I guess if I had to name my 'favorite' band I would say it is Marilyn Manson. However, upon making a webpage I made a solemn vow to not create an asslicking cheesy fan page, there are already WAY too many of those. So, here is my little tiny bit of devotion to this incredible band.
Thrill Kill Kult simply rocks. My favorite album right now is Hit & Run Holiday. They also put on an amazing live show....Groovie Mann exudes raw sexuality and The Bomb Gang Girls really turn up the heat.
Trent Reznor is an indisputable genius in my opinion....not to mention being damn tasty! His music and lyrics have touched me deeply and even helped me though some terrible times. I can't wait for the new album, I'm sure it will be exceptional(if it EVER fucking comes out!!).
I have just recently discovered Portishead. I bought the "Dummy" disc and am in love. Really groovy music...pretty mellow...the vocalist sings me to ecstacy.
The Sisters are the grand old Godfathers of Gothic music. I hate goth these days...I love the Sisters....goth has gone WAY fuckin downhill in my opinion. Switchblade Symphony and Sunshine Blind can kiss my ass. Oh yeah, I owe my knowledge of The Sisters to Jeff also....he bought me Vision Thing on cassette still in the plastic for a buck.
