About the Author: Cathy Lewandowski started in the world of Pure Bred Dogs when she got her first dog, an Irish Setter, who she took through 4-H dog obedience classes. Earning her AKC CD,CDX and UD, with an all breed High In Trial, as well as her CKC CD and CDX. She bred two litters of Irish Setters under the Soft Maple prefix. After returning from collage, she began researching breeds, which was when she discovered the Curly Coated Retriever. Cathy has participated in Obedience, Agility, Conformation, Tracking, Therapy, Drill teams, Puppy Kindergarten Classes, public education seminars, nursing home and children's dog demonstrations. She has taught some private obedience classes, assisted in group obedience class sessions, judged matches and is a CGC evaluator.
