About 4:30 Ripple goes into more active labor. I turn up the heat in the puppy room and wait. Ripple is a first time mom, so I'm not sure how she is going to react.

5:45 Black boy is born

First puppy born...not quite sure where the milk bar is

6:15 Black boy born

8:30 Black girl is born

9:30 Black boy is born

So far the pups are good sized. Everything is right around a pound. She had trouble with two of them, and ended up having them while we walked around outside. (I carry a flashlight and towel!)

Not sure how many are left....back to the puppies!

12:15am Black female is born

1:30am. I think Rip is done. She went out for a potty break, and then came in and ate. Now she is settled down with her new family for the night.

Bath time

For me this is a small litter, but I am very happy with the numbers. I think importing chilled semen has only been done three other times in curlies, resulting in two misses, and a litter of two pups. So the odds were against us to begin with! I wanted to take the chance and see if it is feasible to expand my bloodlines by importing semen. I have Kerstin and Eva to thank for letting me try this. :-)
