Hola everyone! A good week of shows last week. Very rarely am I excited in advance about seeing a band that I’ve never heard of before on the show. I received loads of email from fans about Moxy Fruvous who made their first appearance on last Tuesday’s show and everyone who wrote told me how fab they were. Their performance of the song "Splatter, Splatter" was excellent. I’m off to buy their album now and I hope they come back many times in the future….

I thought last week’s worst guest was Tennis player Serena Williams who appeared on Wednesday’s show. She’s sweet and an undeniably talented tennis player, but as a guest she was boring as hell. If Conan hadn’t gave her some suggestions for a new look I would have fallen asleep. Not only was her appearance a one-way trip into snoozeville, she dissed Andy too perhaps she was just nervous though. Don’t invite her back.

Watch out for baseball delays again this week (probably Tuesday and Wednesday) if you’re a taper. Have a conetastic week everyone and let's get it awn!

ANDY ON TV….. Andy recently appeared as a contestant on an episode of "Celebrity Jeopardy". The show is due to air sometime in November. Check local listings for details.

FORMER CONAN SCRIBE Tommy Blacha who was probably best known for the Gaseous Wiener character and for being the creator of PimpBot 5000 has been hired by the WWF to create new angles for the show. The self-confessed wrestling fan joined the WWF just over two weeks ago. Watch out for PimpBot versus Stone Cold at the next PPV.

CONAN'S TAPING IN L.A. from November 9th - 12th. As we know from last week's "preview" Abe Vigoda will be there. Other guests booked so far are: Rage Against The Machine (November 11), and Smash Mouth (November 12).

THE MW7 WHO'S WHO #3: SCOTT HEALY

MW7 keyboard player SCOTT HEALY was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He studied classical piano as a child at the Cleveland Institute for Music, we think this is where he discovered a penchant for wearing berets. Later, he continued his education at the Eastman School of Music studying composition and piano. It wasn’t until 1983 that Scott moved to New York City and began writing, arranging and producing music for film, television and recording dates.

Healy has recorded with many well known jazz, rock and R&B artists including Randy Brecker, Dave Liebman. Like many of the MW7 he has played and recorded with Phoebe Snow and Hubert Sumlin albums. Healy, who cites Bill Evans and Herbie Hancock as influences on his playing, can be heard on the CD's 'Songs Without Words" and "Northern Lights," a collaboration with guitarist Glenn Alexander.

I watch the show "live" as it is aired, but as I live in Germany, it doesn’t interfere with my job so much (because LATE NIGHT is aired at 23.00 every night on NBC Europe). But I wouldn’t watch it at 1.30 (that’s what VCR's are for). (Stefan)

I have taped a few of the shows, but I almost always watch the show when it's aired. (JGreen)

I watch the show as it airs. I usually only tape the show when there's a rerun of a particularly funny episode or segment. (Noelle)

My Number 1 fav Conan moment is his Public service announcement to those who can't read....it goes something like this:

"You’re an adult now and you realize you still can't read.....well don't worry because there’s a place that can help....this place ((shows a sign with the name of the place, the address and the number)) so call or write them today....((pauses)) Well what are you waiting for? Go on get off the couch and go call them....just read the number and go...go now!!!!...((throws away the sign)) You’re pathetic!"

On Friday (October 15) I went to see my beloved show for the sixth time! Each time it gets better and better and is so much fun. It started out with the usual waiting on line in the NBC lobby and then being moved up to the seventh floor. It seemed like this time we got in to the studio earlier, it was 4:45. As we go into the studio a page sends us through the first door which means we get to be by the desk! The only thing was that we came a little late so we were not that close (but there’s a really kewl reason that I’ll explain later :)

So after a while of me and my friend reminiscing about past Conan experiences, Mike Sweeny the official greeter comes out to say hello. The first guy he picked on was a guy who had a shirt on saying "Pubes cause crime." Mike said he'd pick up a lot of girls tonight. Another guy he picked on was a guy in a suit who was named "The Man Who Was Most Overdressed For The Show." This guy, Jeff, actually claimed that he would be just as good as Conan if the talk show was his- and then he was continuously made fun of. After Mike came out the band and then Mr. Conan O'Brien. Out of the six times I've been there, this is the first time that he got a standing ovation. But he got all embarrassed and told everyone to sit down. Then he chose a girl out of the audience and started singing to her. He was going crazy but it was so hilarious! I love when he comes out beforehand. He's so funny (=. One thing they didnt do this time was make a strange man hug the band... I just realized this!

Anyway, the guests were Jon Stewart, Mariska Hargitay (law and order) and Paula Cole Band. Jon Stewart was hilarious. He and Andy made fun of Alex Trebeck, calling him a prick. Marishka was an ok guest. She insisted to Conan that her name was not strange, and Paula Cole was a pretty cool music guest. The opening sketch was Andy in training for Celebrity Jeopardy and the second was sending characters to LA.

Now, the thing that made this time extremely special is that as me and my friends were walking into 30 Rock, we see a large crowd cheering. So we go over to see whats going on and I see the Masturbating Bear and Foam Rubber Conan! We got to see the sketch being shot and it was really kewl. It seemed as though Mike Sweeny was in charge of this sketch. I was standing right behind him as he was electrocuting the bear and I’m on tape for a few seconds. It was so kewl to see that being made. And it was nice to be so close to the Foam rubber Conan . (=9

**Conan’s s-word on Tuesday wasn’t the only slip up this week. Jim Breuer said ‘pussy’ while describing his wife giving birth to their daughter on Tuesday’s show and Jon Stewart called Jeopardy host Alex Trebeck a ‘prick’ during his segment, although it was edited out.

**The Michael Jackson as seen on Tuesday’s ‘Satellite TV’s interview’ is actually voiced (and lipped) by a former writer for the show, Dino Stamatapolous. You also might remember him as Tomorry The Ostrich and the Kiss-Ass Turkey among others.
