First Dance
The first song danced to together as husband and wife was "I Could Not Ask For More" by Edwin McCain.
Getting Engaged
It was Christmas night, when he proposed to me...when he finally took me home that evening, this was the first non-Christmas song we heard playing on the radio as we said "goodnight"...It was a song that just said what getting married meant to us so perfectly. "I'll Always Be Right There" by Bryan Adams.
Dance with Dad
According to Mom, Dad used to sing this song to his first new born baby girl...So, for sentimental reasons, "You Are So Beautiful" by Joe Cocker was saved for my dance with Dad.
A Song Reminiscent of Our 1st Official Date
He asked me to go to the movies...agreed, after questioning, that he'd take me to see anything I'd like...little did he know I'd want to go see "The Lion King."
"Can You Feel the Love Tonight" by Elton John
Something for Auntie "M"
As the story goes, a cute little flower girl once loved this song and begged for it to be played at her Aunt's wedding reception...and let's just say that this song could have been considered as annoying, 20 years ago, as "The Macarena" is now...So, "Shake Your Booty" by KC and the Sunshine Band is for Auntie "M", just for old-time's sake.
A Song for Mom & Dad
I know this song well because Mom used to tell me that I had to learn the flute part and play it for her when I was taking lessons in school. So, to remember their wedding day, and thank them for all of their help, "Colour My World" by Chicago is for my parents.
******The song playing in the background is "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain.****** My mother-in-law introduced me to this one, and I thought its words were really powerful...I dedicate this song to my husband.
