Every so often JTC finds a surfer who really exemplifies what this site is all about. This person's views and goals are praiseworthy from a Jewish perspectives and their opinions are a valuable asset to our community
Hello, I'm David, also known here as Mordechai, and I am thirteen, contrary
to popular belief. I lead an observant life, on the higher end of conservative,
almost Orthodox, although I would never be accepted that.
I thoroughly
love Judaism because it gives me something to grasp onto; something to have
faith in. With G-d as my compass, and Torah as my map, I thought I would
never be lost.
However, when I was confronted with an uncharted mountain,
I knew I needed something else. I went online, and discovered this: a Jewish
brother/sister -hood. I must admit, I was a little uneasy at first, but
after posting a few posts, I was immediately accepted; and, oh, what a wonderful
feeling that was. It was one of the first times in my life that I felt
as though I belonged to something; that people loved me, who knew me not!
It was incredible; truly indescribable.
Some of my many interests include Torah study, Jewish mysticism, music
(I play the viola and the oboe), and bottle dancing! I also enjoy the study
of Bible history; and foreign languages. Okay, okay, I admit it, I love
to learn!
I would also like to note that there is a reason behind my
lack of photograph and last name. After a great debate within my psyche,
the voices in my head told me not to include this material, because not
only is the Internet an extremely unsafe/insecure place, but I would also
like to set your imagination to work.
I would like to thank everyone here at JTC for making me feel so loved,
and I want to return that feeling. I love each and everyone of you, I
want you to know that. I thank you for allowing me to express my message.
