influx mixoff 1 design done by chad

Coming soon:
Mixoff.com
, a central base for the past, present,
and perhaps future In/Flux//Hindsight Mixoff's.

The Concept:
To collaboratively produce individual musical compositions as a "tribute" to DJ Shadow.

The Procedure:
Each entrant submits samples. The samples are posted and entrants then download the entire set of samples to use as they wish in their own "remix".

The Rules:
1) All entrants must submit their samples by the set deadline. Anyone missing the deadline must wait for another mixoff to take place.
2) Each entrant must submit 3 samples, no more, no less. These samples must be in MP3 format. They must be no longer than 10-20 seconds and consist of one primary instumental element (i.e. guitar sample, piano sample etc.)
3) Only submitted samples are acceptable sources for use in the mixoff song the entrant creates. An entrant is not required to use their own samples and is encouraged to use samples provided by others to promote interaction among the group.
4) The only exception to rule 3) is that an entrant is at liberty to include any acapella (voice only) samples they wish to use.
5) After the set deadline, finished projects will be posted in MP3 format with the artist's description consisting of the samples used, equipment used and any information relative to the finished product.
6) After a listening period a voting amongst the entrants will take place. The voting will be "all things considered" including mixing, beats, equipment used and anything else deemed pertinent at the time of voting.

The CD:
All the mixoff songs were available on cd. We are planning on printing Influx Mixoff 1 on vinyl and on cd again. Stay tuned for updates!!!
