The Escaping Tear. (dedicated to Joel. M.) 6/1/96 A tear falls down my cheek I catch it in my hands. It glistens in the moonlight and splashes as it lands. Very quickly it dissappears. I wonder where it goes. It was there but now it's gone Vanishing under my nose. I caught you in my hand, Just like that very tear. You sparkled as you landed. In my palms i held you near. So too, like that very tear, You would not be there for long. Because when I looked a little later You followed that tear and had gone.
