Rei Ayanami
Not much is known about Rei. She is considered "the first child" because she was the first to pilot the Evangelion. When her eva goes berzerk and she is trapped inside, Shinji's father, Head of NERV, rushes to her rescue and saves her but permanently burns his hands in the process. This incident makes Rei bacome very emotionally attached to shinji's father even though she never says thank you. Rei is a very mysterious character and if you haven't watched the whole series, Be warned that she becomes more and more complex.
