Summer's Ending II
Dawson's sitting on his bed, thinking about how much fun he had dealing with
Pacey, Lily, and Jen when he hears someone coming up the ladder. He jumps
up and looks out the window thinking that maybe it was Joey, and is clearly
dissapointed to see Pacey.
P: (sarcastically)Nice to see you too.
D: Sorry Pace, I was just hoping that it was Joey.
P: Come on Dawson, you know she won't be home for another hour. And we have a
lot to do to get ready for her welcome home party, so get your butt moving. It is so great
that your parents picked this weekend to go away to work on their marriage. We are
going to have sooo much fun. I can't wait until she gets here. I wish it were time
D: Come on Pacey, we have to get ready. And you're supposed to be the one helping me
pass the time until she gets here,not the other way around.
P+D go downstairs and start getting ready for the girls to come over. While they are
working they don't spend much time talking. Both are thinking about how everythings
going to be when Joey gets home.
1 HOUR LATER
Joey is being driven by Bessie to Dawson's house.
J:(thinks) I miss France already, but I am soo excited to be home and can't wait to get to
Dawson's house. But what will happen at Dawson's house? I dont' even know how I feel
about Dawson anymore. And since he never really knew how he felt about me, what will
happen? AT the beginning of hte summer, I waited anxiously to get his letters, but after
awhile, it was like I was too busy and as much as I loved hearing from him, it didn't seem
like the most important thing in my life. But he has always been the most important thing
in my life. Oh, how can this be? Well, at least I know that I'm excited to see Pacey and
even Jen. And this new girl Lily is going to be there, and they all seem to think that I will
like her, so that should be fun. But they sounded like they had so much fun this summer,
without me, what if I am just in the way. Oh, I don't know...
Dawson, Pacey, Jen, and Lily are all at Dawson's house waiting for her to get there.
D:(nervously thinks) about what it will be like to have her home. They did have those 2
wonderful days at the beginning of the summer. But then he thought he could never have
fun without her, yet he did have a wonderful summer. And would she still like him, or did
she maybe find someone in France that she liked better, or would they have grown apart
and have nothing to say to each other...
P:(thinks) I can't believe I'm this excited to see her. I missed her more than I ever thought
I would have...
J:(thinks) I really hope that when she gets here we will have time to talk and become real
friends. But I know that all of this old Dawson stuff is going to come up when she gets
here. And look at how excited he is about her coming home. He'll always pick her over
me. But I'm going to get over him so that Joey and I can become friends...
L(Thinks) Oh, I hope that Joey and I get along. But I can't help but feel that this isn't
going to work. It's been the most wonderful summer of my life. I should have known that
it wouldn't last. I'm sure that dawson will forget about me the minute that she walks
through the door. And probably even my friendships with Pacey and Jen won't be the
same when she gets here. But I hope not. I hope htat we all stay friends and everything is
perfect forever. I've never been this close to a group of people before. I've never had
time, since Ihad to take care of my little sisters. And we moved around so much...
They hear a car pull up, interrupting their thoughts and they all dash outside. Dawson
Pacey and Jen all throw their arms around Joey the minute she steps out of hte car, making
them all forget how worried they were about seeing each other. Lily was left standing on
the porch steps, watching them all and wishing she could be a part of it all.
