Reality

As Joey was patiently trying to rock Alex to sleep using the only method she knew of, the English Patient, her thoughts drifted to the night before. She thought about how much she loved Dawson, and how perfect that night was. She thought about how all her life everyone had told her how wrong sex was, and it didn't mean love, etc. But inside Joey knew that it was right, cuz it wasn't just sex to prove something, it was a portrayal of love. Just then, Joey realized what she was saying.
Sex being a portrayal of love? When did I get so sentimental and sappy? It was the moment she fell in love with Dawson Leery. Looking down, Alex had finally fallen asleep. For the first time Joey realized what a miracle the precious baby was. She didn't feel like she wanted to have a baby, she just now appreciated the thought.
Meanwhile, Dawson sat in his room watching old family movies. He saw his parent's wedding, their anniversary in Hawaii, and Dawson's birth. It was so beautiful, Dawson was moved. In his mind, Dawson saw him and Joey standing on the beach. They would be surrounded by their closest friends and family and would stare lovingly into each others eyes. It was a small wedding and Joey would be wearing a simple white sundress, no shoes, and a wreath of white flowers in her hair. Dawson would be wearing khakis and a navy jacket, and Pacey was his best man. Jen was the maid of honor, and did the job only because she knew how in love they were. As the sunset, Dawson and Joey became husband and wife.
Dawson woke up to static on his television screen. He had fallen asleep thinking of their wedding. Suddenly, he had to see Joey. He crawled out his window and ran to her house as fast as he could. Then, without waking anyone but her, he climbed through her window and told her to come with him. She was dressed in boxers and a t-shirt but to Dawson she had never looked more beautiful. They went and sat out by the ruins and talked.
They reminisced about what had gone on their just 24 hours earlier and laughed at the thought. They talked about all the movies they had seen where the young couple sneaks off and how cheesy it always seemed. Now, however, it didn't seem that stupid, although it did remind them of how whenever they did sneak off, something bad always happened.
Joey wondered, "Dawson, do you think anything bad will happen to us?"
Dawson reassured her that they would be just fine, and Joey's life would no longer be filled with tragedy and heartache.
"But, with everything that has happened in my life, I can't help but think that something will happen. I'll lose you, I'll get pregnant, I'll get sick, something will happen."
"Nothing will happen. But if anything ever does, I'll be right here. Forever." Dawson told her. "Nothing could ever keep us apart, and if I ever lost you, then my life wouldn't be worth living."
"Dawson, I can't believe you would give up your life, just for me. Am I really worth it?" Joey asked, unsure.
"Jo, you are the reason why I get up every morning, you make my life worth living."
"I love you Dawson."
"I love you too, Jo"
Inside, Dawson wasn't sure about everything he had just said. He knew he loved her, and that he couldn't live without her, but he wasn't sure that nothing would happen to them. It was just too common for teens to get sick or pregnant, he didn't know if they were that lucky. And, these were Joey's fears as well. Ever since that night, she just hadn't felt, right. It was a feeling that she couldn't describe or explain, it was just there.

Will something happen to their fairytale romance?
