Part 6 in the Series

Dawson laid down tiredly on his bed and let out a deep sigh. He had this nagging feeling that something was wrong, and he just couldn't shake it. Maybe it had something to do with being in his old bedroom after so many years...Or maybe it was that weird conversation he had with Joey just minutes before.

"Joey? Sorry for calling so late, I wanted to see how the dinner went."

"The dinner? Um, it went....fine."

"Are you ok?"

"Ok? Yah, why wouldn't I be?"

"You just sound...preoccupied.........Is Anderson still there?"

"Anderson? uh...Yah, he's still here....But he's about to leave, don't worry."

"I'm not worried."

"Ok"

"Ok."

"I gotta go Dawson."

"Oh, yah, sure...Um, I'm staying at my parent's huse....call me tomorrow over here?"

"Definitely...Bye."

"Bye Jo."

"I love you."

"I love you too,bye."

Joey sounded so petrified to talk to him....she sounded almost guilty. He couldn't help but think that maybe something happened between her and Anderson. He fell asleep with that thought in mind.

(An hour later...12:00a.m.)

Joey parted the sheer white curtain of the bedroom window. She secretly thanked God that Mr. Leery had picked that day to clean the gutters and leaving the ladder out. Joey climbed into the bedroom awkwardly, silently cursing herself for not changing into jeans, rather then staying in her dress. When she finally was inside the familiar room, she let out a deep sigh and looked around. It looked just like it had when she left for college. The movie posters were slightly faded from the sun, and they wrinkled at the corners, but they still held the memories that each one posessed.

She smiled as she saw the E.T. poster that hung over Dawson's bed and peacfully recalled all the times her and Dawson watched the movie. Her eyes drifted down to the sleeping body in the bed, and her smile grew wider. She quietly walked over to the side of the bed and sat there staring at the sleeping Dawson. She knew she had to wake him up, but wanted to make sure that memory of him was firmly planted into her brain. She slowly lifted her hand to his face, moving a stray hair out of his eyes. As she tucked it behind his ear, Dawson quickly lifted his hand to hers. As he entwined his fingers with hers, he opened his eyes and smiled.

"Hey there." Joey whispered quietly as she returned the smile.

"Hey....What are you doing here?" Dawson asked through a yawn. He sat up so his head was level with hers.

"I have to talk to you." Joey's voice went from light to deeply serious.

"Is something wrong?" Dawson noticed the change in her voice.

"Tonight, after dinner....Um, Anderson..kissed me." Joey eyed Dawson nervously, but continued. "BUT, I didn't kiss back." Dawson let out a sigh of relief, he had been holding his breath the entire time.

"O-kay." Dawson said stupidly, not knowing what to say.

"Nothing else happened, but we talked...for a REALLY long time. He's...uh, going back to New York tomorrow." Joey noticed Dawson looked extremely relieved.

"Oh...Was it because of the k---"

"No, we just thought it was better to go with our original plans."

"So what's happening between you and him?" Dason asked confused.

"Well he told me he still loved me...but Dawson, I don't love him. I DID love him, but kinda in that superficial way...Y'know? He was there after I was still brooding about leaving you..Kinda like, off the rebound. Then the marriage...everything happened so fast." Joey watched Dawson intently, trying to make out his expression. He slowly went from a look of relief, to vacancy, to happiness.

There was a silence in the room, until Dawson broke it.

"Jo...When you told me about him kissing you...I felt a flash of...I felt this flash that our fairy tale life together was going to end."Dawson said slowly.

"Dawson, no one goes on to live fairy tale lives!" Joey said laughing.

"Nuh-uh Jo, because we can. I mean, even in fairy tales there are evil stepmothers or villians, but they still live happily ever after." Dawson said hopefully.

Joey grinned. "I agree with you...partially." She leaned to him and kissed him deeply.

Dawson pulled away. "'Partially'?" He asked in mock seriousness.

Joey laughed quietly an pulled him into another kiss.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Joey woke up with a start, and lifted her head from her desk. She yawned tiredly as she glanced at the clock. 7:15 p.m. She looked on the desk to the papers that laid there. She re-read over her application to Boston University. Her eyes darted from one question to the next, seeming satisfied with her answers. She checked over her typed essay, the one she spent forever perfecting and spell checking, and turned to the last page of the packet. She had put that last question off for a week now, and figured it was time to fill it in. She was thinking of way to answer it, when she had fallen asleep. She had the most vivid and longest dream of her entire life. Everything seemed so real.

Joey read the question again.

Where do you see yourself in the next ten (or so) years?

She laughed slightly as she recalled her dream once again. "Ten years"? she asked herself, Divorced with two children and about to encounter the happiest time of my life. She answered laughing, but despite her thoughts she jotted something short down:

In ten years I see myself about to embark on the greatest adventure of my
life. However, at this point in time, I can't quite tell what that adventure
is, but I'm sure it will be the best one of my entire life.

Joey sighed happily at her answer and looked around her desk. She slowly picked up a picture Bessie had given to her earlier that day. It had been taken a week earlier at the docks outside of Dawson's house. It was of her and Dawson , her arms tightly wrapped around his neck, and his arms comfortably wrapped around her waist. They were engaged in a kiss that could drain the Atlantic Ocean. Joey lightly fingered their faces and went to her drawers where she searched for something. She finally pulled out an empty silver frame, and gently laid the picture lovingly into it. She quickly snapped out of her daze and grabbed her jean jacket that was lying on her bed. She hastily put it on and jumped out of her one story window. It was Saturday, therefore meaning Movie Night, and Dawson was expecting her.

Author's Note: Okay, there it is, done with. Finis! THE END! I have ended this series because one:I'm getting bored with it...two:I got a little bit of rude comments directed to me saying that my stories are SOOOOO much like other peoples' so I decided to end it. I'm still planing to write fanfic, just not this series. And another thing. I planned to have Anderson and Joey get together a little bit and cause confilict with Dawson and Joey, but I gave in to the reader's request and made Dawson and Joey live happily ever after...sort of. So goodbye and wait for some other stories by ME! =) p.s. If you don't like the ending to this series, I have two words for you "BITE ME!" and also three more, DEAL WITH IT!
