Our private consulting business has been servicing production facilities, broadcasters, web entities and producers since 1992. Past jobs have included Vice President of two cable networks - QVC's Q2 network and CSN, The Caribbean Satellite Network and more than a decade with MTV-Music Television (81-92, when it didn't suck).
Despite my years as a private consultant and in the corporate suite, it's my very first job out of college that people find most interesting; the launch of MTV-Music Television.
I joined a company called WASEC (Warner Amex Satellite Entertainment Company) in July of 1981. We would launch MTV on August 1, 1981. I joined the launch crew as a Technical Director/Tape Op and was made a Crew Chief for the all-important prime-time shift right after the launch. During MTV's formative years, I was T.D. for 3-4 hours, 5 nights a week. You might say we know just a LITTLE about music videos. The rest is history.
