Seminary of Our Lady of the Snows

Site Updated June, 2005

"This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!"

  • Welcome all who with sincere heart wish to act on God's call to service as a cleric of the Church! The Seminary  is a School of the Lord's Service that places its emphasis not merely on studying the Sacraments, but on living them. While an academic appreciation of the wisdom of the Centuries, in terms of theological thought and biblical scholarship, are important aspects of professional preparation, formation for ministry is chiefly about knowing one's "true self" and heeding the Call to examine oneself and enter into the Bridal Chamber of the Sacred Heart.

  • The Seminary is organized along the lines of a mentorship model. Seminarians are assigned to a Committee on Priestly Formation comprised of the local mentor, Bishop, the Vicar of Formation & Rector of the Seminary and one or more major advisors. Study is designed to fulfill ten core competencies. Throughout seminary training, emphasis is placed on integrating all learning in the context of what it means to be a Priest of the 21st Century serving a world that is ever more complex, frenetic and violent. The heart of all study is a disciplined Rule of Prayer, Contemplation & Liturgy.

  • Admission to the Seminary is open to those who bring an open heart, a sincere desire to learn, a willingness to serve, and a love of the teachings of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  •

  • The Church ordains individuals  who feel Called to the Priesthood and are prepared to commit themselves to rigorous preparation. What matters is maturity, self-examination, and a commitment to being an authentic servant as epitomized by the example of Our Lady.
