#Cloud_City is being dispersed to several sister channels. Reasons for this
include disagreements among operators, but mostly because the channel has been
overshadowed by other more successful sister channels. The continued use of this channel
serves only to compete with these other channels, an altogether fruitless goal.
#Cloud_city will remain on IRC, however, as a meeting place for those who are interested
in poetry, philosophy, and other intellectual pursuits... but unless patterns shift on their
own, it will be a directory toward other channels rather than a forum of its own.
I am also aware that many old friends who have not visited #cloud_city in a while have no
way of reaching myself or other old channel regulars other than through use of the channel,
and so therefore the channel will be kept alive for this sole purpose at the least. (Na'ama
and Kaui, please keep in touch with me through email if you come across this. Both of you
haven't visited in a while and I don't want to lose touch: acloud@angelfire.com...
Na'ama, I don't even have a valid email for you anymore, please contact me!).
This website will also be kept up for a while, since I don't forsee having any use
for the webspace. All are welcome to contact me through either email or via the comments form
found here. I can also still be found on IRC as greenbird.
Sister channels include the following.
For those interested in a well organized and highly respectable philosophy channel
on IRC, please visit #Origins. This is the channel I am now spending my time with
and recommend it, but only if you are interested in philosophical conversation. Topics vary
frequently. You can check out the #Origins website at the following link:
Many old regulars of #cloud_city hang out in a channel called, creatively, #the_clouds.
It is generally a place for friends to get together and chat. If you are interested
in meeting most of the operators from the #cloud_city profiles, a good bet would be
locating them at #the clouds.
For those interested in poetry, I would have to recommend #poetry, since I'm not familiar
with any poetry channels on DALnet more suitable than this one. I believe that some
old regulars of #cloud_city visit there, as well as serveral handfuls of other people.
I hope to see you around IRC!
No More Poetry Submissions
Due to the dispersal of the channel, I will no longer be accepting poetry submissions
for publishing on this site. My apologies to all those who have submitted in the last
several months, whom I have not gotten around to posting. You might want to try submitting
them to the literary online magazine Curiosity's Escape.
Thank you for the submissions, they were all wonderful poems.
