Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama

Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama is a charitable organisation dedicated to the cause of service of god in man. The main objective is to provide free medical aid to the poor. Salient feature of the organisation is given below for your kind information.

1. October 2, l975: Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama found its lilght by starting a free medical aid centre at Vasanthaplura , a village in Bangalore South taluk

2. April 24, l977 : This medical service is extended to another village Tataguni Bangalore South taluk.

3.June 3, l979 : Sri Vivekananda Sevashrama is registered as charitable trust.

4.October 3, l979: City based medical aid centre opened at Sri Ramamandira at N.R.Colony in Bangalore.

5.October l2, l979: Another centre was started at B.R.Hills, Yelandur taluk with the cooperation of Dr.H.Sudarshan.

6.The Year l979 : During this year earmarked as the International year of the child, free medical check up camps for l500 school children at the following places::

a) Vasanthapura b) Tataguni c) Talaghattapura d) Agara e) Kaggallipura f) Somanahalli g) Harohalli

7. May l8, l99l: To mark the international year of Old, an old age home by name Prashanthidhama started functioning at Puttenahalli Bangalore south taluk

8. January 5, l983 : City based dislpensary was shifted to II Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore

9. February 8,l983: Closure of old age home due to nonavailability of accommodation.

l0.April , l99l: Sri Vivekananda sevasharama made over its branch at B.R.Hills to Vivekananda Girijana Kalyana Kendra.

ll. July l99l : City based medicalaid centre was closed due to nonavailability of doctors.
