Allan Houston was born on April 4, 1971, is 6-6 and 200lbs. He and his wife have a daughter named Reme-Jean. Allan grauduated from Tennessee University in 1993 with a BA in African-American Studies. In High school Allan was a high jumper on the track team. All say that Allan's greatest moment in sports was winning the state High School Basketball Championship at Gllard High School in Kentucky.
Allan spent his first three years with the Detroit Pistons. For the Knicks Allan is a spectacular shoot who has the ability to create his own shoots. Taking the ball to the hole, and create shots for other teammates. It‘s not odd to see Allan with the ball the last few seconds of the game, everyone trust him to make a play in a cluch situation.
During a recovery from a wrist surgery in the off season two years ago, Allan's shooting range was limited. He more effectivlty developed his driving ability, creating either a lay-up, or drawing a fouled. Allan being one of the Knicks most reliable free throw shooters, his new ability was a big asset during a season when Patrick Ewing was out after 13 games.
As a player, Allan continues to grow as a Knicks. Last year he became both a vocal leader on the floor and in the locker room, this season he is one of the Knicks' tri-captains. Many will forever remember his magical shot in game five against the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs. The "magical bounce" was the first step to the Knicks' magical run to the Finals last season. More and more Allan has become feared by teams, making him their main target. His ability to be effective despite being the opponents target shows why Allan Houston is one of the NBA's top guards
