Nu Ujamaa is one of the seven Kwanzaa principles that was formulated by Dr. Maulana Ron Karenga on December 26, 1966. The meaning of UJAMAA is ( cooperative economics) to build and maintain businesses and to be able to profit from them. I later added the word "NU" to Ujamaa to symbolize the building of a new foundation.
