Chapter 10...Secrets But No Lies

"Yes.... I know...she is a wonderful child... excellent grade point average...yes...but what...I don't think that should be a problem...ok...agreed...this month ok...bye bye!" Zac gently put the phone back in its cradle and hopped up and down with joy.

"Who was that?" Ike asked as he entered the living room.

"None of your business my stubborn friend." Zac skipped to and fro around the room waiting for just the right moment.

"Zac, what in the hell are you doing? You look like a giddy freak! Stop it, you're scaring me!" Zac did as he was told and just as Isaac turned to walk into the kitchen he continued his little jig around the room.

Zac was filled to the brim with excitement. Finally after a few days of "Zac Hanson Persuasion Techniques", Zac had found a way to let Gwen stay for a whole month, just like his lovely fancy feast. Now he waited until one of his victims would come into the room so he could tell them about his accomplishment. After a grueling five minutes Tay appeared.

"Zac! Calm down! Did you forget to take your Ritalin or something?" Tay backed away as Zac came jumping towards him.

"No, my oblivious brother! Will you promise to praise me and everything I walk on, if I tell you what has made me so violently happy?"

"Depends."

"Well, fine then, I guess I can't tell you where Gwen is going to be in the next month or so..." Zac turned his back to Tay and crossed his arms.

"HOLY SHIT! Please tell me that you some how got Gwen to stay for the rest of the month!" Tay had the widest grin imaginable.

"Well..." before Zac could say yes, Taylor was screaming at the top of his lungs and hugging his little brother who was squirming under his slightly bigger bro's grasp.

"Zac! How could I ever repay you! Gwen is going to be so happy when I tell her! By the way how did you..." Taylor was still bursting with excitement.

"I'm sorry dear brother, but that's my secret." Zac ran from the room and out the door. Taylor, shocked, still stood staring at the closed door where Zac had ran out. Now all he had to do was tell Gwen. He walked aimlessly around the house looking for someone; anyone to share the news with, but no one was in sight. "It's ten o'clock in the morning! Where could everyone be?" Taylor said to himself. He decided to give up and go get something to eat. As he stepped into the kitchen he caught sight of a huge piece of yellow paper stuck to the refrigerator. It read:

Dear Zac and Tay,

Gwen and I went to do some summer shopping.

Love, Alisha

'Why didn't they invite me?' Taylor thought, 'I must have been asleep, oh well.' Taylor thought he should conserve his energy and go back to bed to dream of screaming girls and other naughty things.

Gwen and Alisha thought it was about time they had spent some time away from their dream boys, so they talked about their life up to that point in time over a cool cup of an orange Julius.

"I can't believe we are here," Gwen just shook her head in amazement, "I mean, we are Taylor and Zachary Hanson's girlfriends. Do you know how odd that is?" Alisha sipped some Julius and nodded in replay.

"I know, I know but I've been thinking about this whole thing. I don't think we're going to last, I mean me and Zac." Alisha whimpered.

"Why would you say that? He's obviously crazy about you!" Gwen exclaimed in amazement that Alisha would think that.

"Well, yeah but I don't think I can please him in certain ways." Alisha stared into the distance.

"Oh, I see...but Zac, you know he won't do anything that you don't want him to do to you. He is a very reliable person, besides, he will make you confident again." Gwen gave her a hug; Alisha became teary eyed.

"Gwen, I can't wallow in my sadness or grief. That's it, I'm not going to live the rest of my life in seclusion just because of one event in my life. It's been a year since it's happened, and I think I can trust Zac, with more than my life. You should have heard what he said to me yesterday, Gwen. It was the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. I mean, I have to give him something in return. Oh god, I love him so much, I don't want to lose him." Alisha burst out crying and Gwen quickly hugged her to try to calm her down. Soon enough the whole food court could here her whimpers. Gwen thought quickly and soon they were both on the outside of the mall. Gwen soon quieted down.

"Um...Alsiha? What do you mean? It's been a year since what happened?" Gwen asked with a confused look on her face.

Alisha got a blank look and she turned her head. "Gwen...I didn't mean to say anything...can you forget about it?" She had a pleading look on her face.

"Yeah, sure, no prob. If you ever wanna talk about it I'm here," Gwen replied, still confused about the whole thing.

"Thanks," she replied and smiled. "Ok, I'm calm now, let's finish our shopping, I want to buy something...in particular." Alisha led the way and they were back in the mall.

Isaac gave the cashier his money and quickly walked out of the bookstore. As soon as he stepped out he wasn't watching were he was going and walked right into someone with a blotchy red face.

"Alisha? Are you ok?" Isaac put a hand on her shoulder.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Um...what is Zac's favorite color? And Tay's?" Alisha asked as if she was in a hurry.

"Well, let me think...Zac always tells me that he likes his blue boxers to my green. Taylor always babbles about how he would like to see some hot girl wear a red..." Before Isaac could stop his rambling Alisha and Gwen thanked him and were off. He just shrugged his arms and headed towards his car. This morning Katy left to go on some internship at some reporting place somewhere far away for a few days. So Isaac was occupying his mass amount of time without her to buy her cute little gifts. So far he had bought three books on reporting and such. The only thing he needed to do now was buy her something so dashing, so ingenious so, so surprising that she would absolutely fall for him and they would happily ever after. But Ike knew that it took more than a mall to benefit all of his buying needs. So instead he decided to drive around Tulsa aimlessly looking for "THE PERFECT GIFT."

"Ok, Gwen which one do you prefer? The blue satin, the blue English lace or the blue Angels one?" Alisha held them up for viewing pleasure.

"Ok...the question is which one I like? How about which one Zac would like? Ok...I would say…go for the English lace." Alisha seemed satisfied with that so she nonchalantly placed the other two on a display table. "What about these?" Gwen held up the same types but all in red/burgundy.

"How about the burgundy lace?" Gwen was satisfied with Alisha's choice so she too, threw the others down and went to pay.

"Man, why do these things have to be so damn expensive? I mean, 22 bucks?!" Alisha exclaimed a bit too loudly.

"Excuse me," one of the store workers asked, tapping Alisha's shoulder, "can I help you?" She smiled curtly.

Alisha turned pale. She realized that the lady had heard what she said. "Um...no thanx," she muttered and dashed across the store.

"Zac if you don't throw that damn ball, I swear on the facial hair of your dog that I will kill you!" One of Zac's best friends Jamie had started a game of baseball but hadn't gotten very far.

"Excuse-moi, but I'm waiting for the wind to change direction so I can throw it well which means that you can hit it out of my yard, thank you very much! I'm actually doing you a favor, so I guess you don't care if I walk away and never talk to you again." Zac threw down the ball and began to walk in the opposite direction. Jamie at this point was brimful of rage. He ran full speed towards the slowly moping Zac who didn't hear a single footstep from the oncoming bull. Zac tumbled to the ground with Jamie sitting on top of him.

"Do you swear to tell the whole truth, nothing but the truth, so help you god? Anything you say or do is used against you in the court of law, you have a right to an attorney..." Jamie kept rambling on until Zac managed to push Jamie off of him and run full speed back to his house. Zac locked the door and walked up to his room to write in his journal. He wasn't in a mood to talk; he just wanted to think about his relationship with Alisha and life in general. When Zac stepped into his room, Taylor was snoozing like a baby with ten gallons of saliva surrounding his pillow. Zac wanted to be nice and not do anything to wake him up, so he decided to skip the idea of writing in his journal and play drums instead. With huge strides he made his way downstairs to the basement and started belting out rhythms. After thirty minutes of incessant beats, Tay finally woke up and came to complain. Just before Taylor was about to step downstairs to moan and complain he heard a turn of a knob and he was off running.

"GWEN! GWEN! GWEN!" Taylor was jumping up and down but stopped in mid sentence when he realized he was screaming to his older and 'wiser' brother who was holding something rather peculiar in his hand.

"Oh it's you...what do you have in your hand? Is it for me?"

"Boy, you are the inquisitive one today aren't you Taylor? Well, I'm sorry but I can't tell you...not quite yet..." Ike walked from the room and ran upstairs.

"No one wants to tell me anything today? Is it just me? Am I to intimidating or something?" Taylor rambled on about himself and his pet peeves.

"Oh Taylor, who is not telling you anything?" Tay turned around and was face to face with Gwen.

"GWEN! Your going to stay for another month!!!!" Taylor was grinning with all his might. Gwen started to scream and they both started jumping up and down as if they had one the lottery.

"Well, I glad I'm not the only one who's gone mad in this house." Zac came into the room all hot and sweaty. Taylor and Gwen just grinned and jumped around the place. Alisha walked into the room and gave Zac a hug.

"I see you're a little down in the dumps Zac...maybe we could celebrate?" Zac just gave her a funny grin.

Gwen got up on the counter top to get everyone's attention, "Ok, guys, since it's sort of our five week anniversary or something, I think it's time we REALLY celebrated." Zac and Tay just shrugged.

"Oh, first off we have to get Ike out of the house. Secondly we have to wait until dark." Alisha stated.

"Well, yeah obviously get Ike out of the house...but um what kind of party should we have? Invite friends like before or..." Tay suggested.

"Oh, don't worry...we've actually been doing some planning..." Gwen slowly replied with a smirk on her face.
