To do or not to do is the question when it comes to having sex in your teens. Teens today have a lot more to worry about than teens 20 or more years ago. One of the biggest things teens worry about is having sex. By the time you get done reading this I hope you will think twice about having sex in your teens.
The first thing I want to address in this essay is about your virginity. If you are a teen and you are thinking about having sex, there are things you need to think about and your virginity is one of them. Even though you can't see it, it is still important and sacred. Your virginity is something that you will never ever get back.
Other things you need to worry about. When and/ if you decide to have sex are STDs. STDs for those who don't know what that stands for is Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Such as Aids, Hiv, Herps, etc. Most if not all of these diseases Can Not be cured with anything. A lot of people men, women, teens, adults die from one or more of these diseases every day.
Another thing you need to think about when thinking about sex is teen pregnancies. Teens everyday are giving birth and males everyday are running away. Alot of pregnant teens say "Will we used protection". But the thing is protection whether it being a condom, birth control etc. Can break, tear, fail, etc.
I talked to a teenage mother a week ago and here is some of what she had to say. " I missed my prom because I was in the Labor room. The father of my daughter left me when I told him I was pregnant. I wish I would have waited now I have to work a crappy job. Just to support myself and my almost 5 year old daughter. I want to go back to school but I don't see it happening".
I asked her if she had any advice for a teenage girl thinking about having sex. She said " My advice to her would be Not to do it. Something could go wrong and she could wind up being like me. A single mother striving to support herself and her child with no help from the father.
She is not the only teen mother that gets no help from the father. 87% or more of all teens that get pregnant get no help from the father. As more teens get pregnant that number gets higher and higher.
But there are some males man enough to stick by and sometimes even marry the teen mother of their babies. In this nation we need more men like them. But their number is getting smaller and smaller as more teens get pregnant. So now you know some of the disadvantages about having sex in your teens. Even when I try I can not think of any advantages about having sex in your teens. By: Alexis
