I've changed the design for my Swan 305 subwoofers. I'm going to use a transmission line cabinet. The line will be a 12" or 14" Sonotube. The baffle will be 2.25" thick, with .75" inside the tube, glued to the side wall, to hold it in firmly. The other 1.5" will be resting on top of the edge of the tube, to give a thick, solid surface for the woofer's mounting screws to grip. The top 1.5" will also be glued.
The 2.25" thickness will be accheived by using 3 .75" particle board sheets glued together.
I'm not sure of the response or crossover requirements unique to the transmission line. All I know so far is that they will play to 20-25 Hz, with 6 db/octave rolloff after that. I'm going to use an impedance EQ to flatten out the impedance, so a theroretical crossover will work more predictibly.
