The Performer

Here I am sitting in the dark,
waiting for my performer tonight.
I see nothing and I hear brief silence,
as music plays and a figure appears in the light.

There he is in the spotlight and my smile begins to grow,
for I am watching a beautiful man of passion and power.
Excitement overwhelms me whenever he makes his moves,
and one thing in mind is,"why didn't I bring him a flower?"

Now my eyes are fixed on him as he flies across the ice,
showing artistry and strength which is absolutely amazing.
His drama and theatricals always spark my interest,
it's no wonder why I can not stop grinning and gazing.

His performance is masculine and he has grace,
and his eyes look at me but not seeing my face.
It would be nice to meet him, just to hug and embrace,
but "Hello! you're dreaming!!" and that is my case.

That's it, he's finished, and now he takes his bow,
so my hands clap until they hurt as he disappears in the dark.
That was it and he's gone and i will not see him again,
I guess this is why I keep that image deep within my heart.
