We will forever remember
that dreadful day.
On the 11th of September,
in our minds will forever stay.

The feelings we were dealt
when we heard the news.
How helpless we felt
when we saw those horrid views.

When panic was in the hearts of all,
these are the ones who stayed sane.
They were scared when they got the call,
but regardless of that, they came.

Some gave their lives,
they gave their time,
they put their minds
to saving lives like mine.

They are forever heroes
and will always be,
the men and women
of the rescue teams.
