French Commendations

Belgian Commendations
Croix De Guerre: Awarded for accomplishments in the Flanders Region. Order of the Crown: Awarded for accomplishments in the Flanders Region. Order of Leopold II: Awarded for accomplishments in the Flanders Region.

American Commendations

Lafayette Escadrille Commendations

LafEsc Veteran status is awarded either to those pilots who complete 100 missions, or to those who achieve such successes before 100 missions that they are deserving of the Commendation. A post to the Squadron Message Board is also required.

LafEsc Ace status is awarded either to those pilots who bring down 5 aircraft without losing their own, or to those who distinguish themselves similarly in battle. A post to the Squadron Message Board is also required.

The Lafayette Escadrille honor of Rex Tempestatis, or King of the Storm, is awarded to pilots either within or outside of the Squadron who have so singularly revealed their merit to the Squadron that they are deserving of such Commendation. Rex Tempestatis is awarded for excellence in two catagories, Per Fama, or Through Reputation, and Per Bellum, or Through War.
The Lafayette Escadrille Medaille Du Vol, or Medal of Flight, is awarded to pilots either within or outside of the Squadron who have upheld the standards of Honor, Duty and Excellence. It comes in 3 grades, indicated by the number of stars inclining verticly from lower left to upper right.

The Big War: Oct98-Feb99 Commendations
Military Service Medal: As Medaille Militaire. Order of the Star: As Croix De Guerre. Order of the Crown: As Legion of Honor.
The Verdun Medal: As Lafayette Escadrille Veteran. Iron Eagle: As Lafayette Escadrille Ace.
