Walter Payton - The Statistics
Walter Payton ended his career a few short years before the Fantasy Football League was founded in '91 but he will forever be remembered for his determination. He was symbolic of everything right in the game of football during a time of change and transition in the NFL. He was the reliable work-horse of a mediocre Bears franchise of the 70's and early-80's. Even with little or no help from rag-tagged offensive lines throughout his 13 year career, Payton rushed for over 1,200 yards in each season with the exception of his rookie year and two strike-shortened seasons.
