NGB Power Rankings
Mussina (New York)

Jim Thome is coming off of a career season in Cleveland. He jacked 52 homeruns, knocked in 118 RBIs and hit a nice .304. After the off season, Thome and Cleveland decided to part ways and the Phillies front office jumped on this opportunity to get a great power hitter like Thome. This season Jim Thome is leading a cast of other Phillies like All-Star Manny Ramirez and 14-game winner Kevin Millwood, who was also acquired in the off season. This cast of great hitting and solid pitching has led Philadelphia to the best record in New Generation Baseball at 57-30.

CURRENT RANKINGS
RANK LR TEAM
1 -
 Philadelphia Phillies (---)
This team has a combination of great hitting and solid pitching. If Philly can add a solid #3 starter to go along with Armas Jr. and Millwood, watch out in the playoffs, the Phillies will be the team to beat.
2 -
 Seattle Mariners (---)
Seattle has yet to make a trade this season, but they still have the best lineup in the American League. If they can add a compliment to Freddy Garcia, this team just might have what it takes to overcome the Yankees and make it to the World Series.
3 -
 Arizona Diamondbacks(---)
The Arizona Diamondbacks has a dream rotations. With Maddux and Johnson leading a group of young guns, watch out for this team in the playoffs. If this team can add some bullpen and get a few solid hitters, they might have what it takes to make a run for the gold in September.
4 -
 New York Yankees (---)
What can you say about the Yankees? They are the best franchise in any sport ever, plus they added the Japanese great Matsui. Matsui is added to a list of hitters that include Jeter, Soriano, Bernie Williams and J.D. Drew.
5 -
 Atlanta Braves (---)
Atlanta will surely fall in love with Sheffield's skills, but how long will the honeymoon last?
6 -
 Oakland Athletics (---)
Billy Koch, the newest hard slingin' A, assures plenty of happy endings for baseball's best batch of starters
7 -
 Houston Astros (---)
A suddenly younger team will count on a superb staff and that old offensive pop.
8 -
 New York Mets (---)
Among the Mests many question marks, the biggest-fiqurativley and literally-is Vaughn.
9 -
 Boston Red Sox (---)
Boston's recent history is littered with quick fixes gone wrong; the speedy Damon is one that should go right.
10 -
 Chicago White Sox (---)
Good young arms plus scary veteran bats add up to team to be reckoned with.
11 -
 San Francisco Giants (---)
Signs of change for the better still may not get last year's runner-up back to the top.
12 -
 Florida Marlins (---)
This talented young bunch needed a leader. They got themselves a Rock.
13 -
 Minnesota Twins (---)
Talentwise the Twins are fine. They have the best defensive in the league and built for a turf team.
14 -
 Cleveland Indians (---)
With a dropoff in firepower, this Tribe won't be lighting it up in the postseason.
15 -
 Chicago Cubs (---)
Will baseball's longest championship drought finally end? Don't count on it.
16 -
 Los Angeles Dodgers (---)
Who's on third? It could be a long season if Adrian Beltre doesn't have a big year.
17 -
 Philadelphia Phillies (---)
Last year was nice, but the status quo won't be enough for Philly to move up
18 -
 Anaheim Angels (---)
Nothing would be more heavenly than a return to form by two pivotal sluggers. (Samlon and Erstad)
19 -
 San Diego Padres (---)
Think there's nowhere to go but up for the NL's worst defensive team? Think again.
20 -
 Texas Rangers (---)
WOW, They're going to score a lot of runs, and have a chance to give up alot...
21 -
 Toronto Blue Jays (---)
Once they've endured thier growing pains, the New Jays should improve with age.
22 -
 Colorado Rockies (---)
Bank on more cost cutting if a pair of aces fail to rebound from a poor 2001.
23 -
 Milwaukee Brewers (---)
Wanted:a spark at the top of the order and power in the middle of the linuep.
24 -
 Detroit Tigers (---)
This Club is in serious trouble. It doesn't have many marketable players to trade. You would have a better farm if you planted lettuces in the Sahara.
25 -
 Montreal Expos (---)
Vladimir Guerrero good luck this season with this team.
26 -
 Baltimore Orioles (---)
For the O's to improve, the kids have to keep up with ageless Jeff Conine.
27 -
 Cincinnati Reds (---)
How bad are the Reds? Two years ago their ace was minor leaguer-in Japan?
28 -
 Kansas City Royals (---)
Even with Mike Sweeney and Carlos Beltran still around, the Royals are clearly the cellar-dwellers. Look for them to rent the basement all year long.
29 -
 Pittsburgh Pirates (---)
Brain Giles is a superstar, but the naked truth is: The rest of this team stinks.
30 -
 Tampa Bay Devil Rays (---)
An out-with-the-old, in-with-the new, plans offers hope-just not for this year.
