#

Team

Top Needs

Pick

Reason

33

Cincinnati

 DB, OL,

Andre Woolfolk, CB, Oklahoma

The Bengals got their DT in round 1. Here they may look at an OL to help open holes for Dillon. The Bengals will be hard pressed, though to pass on another defender.

34

Detroit

 OL, DB, LB

Cory Redding, DE, Texas

The Lions grabbed a franchise CB in round 1. Here they may grab a good receiver to give Harrington options. Other possibilities are a young fast LB or even a DE.

35

Houston

OL,  WR

Willis McGahee, RB, Miami

The Texans were hoping to wait another round and about 4 more picks to get their player, but they have coveted Willis McGahee for some time. Most teams have expressed interest in the Miami star, but the Texans are the only team who can afford him this high.

36

Chicago

 QB, OL

Jon Stinchcomb, OT, Georgia

Chicago may grab a run stuffing DT, a mauling OL, or even a pass rushing LB. The cap and free agency have drained these positions as James Williams and Roosevelt Colvin will be gone next year.

37

Dallas

 RB, OL

George Foster, OT, Georgia

Dallas grabbed their pass rushing stud in round 1 and may grab a DB here. Another option is one of the many top guards or tackles that are still available.

38

Houston (from Arizona)

 OL,  WR

Brett Williams, OT, FSU

The Texans will likely grab a defender to play in their 3-4 scheme. They may grab a smaller “tweener” that can play OLB.

39

Minnesota

 DL, LB,DB

Lynaris Elpheage, CB, Tulane

The Vikings overhaul on defense will continue here. They will likely grab a DB or an LB. It’s not unthinkable that a young WR will go here.

40

Jacksonville

WR, LB

Bradie James, LB, LSU

The Jags will probably focus on defense in rounds 2 & 3. Fast agile defenders are on Jack Del Rio’s menu, so an LB or DB is a possibilities here.

41

Carolina

QB, WR,

Vince Manuwaui, OG, Hawaii

The Panthers will look at WR’s here as well as an RB. They again may consider an OL as they are very weak on the line. If a prime defensive player falls the Panthers may strengthen a great defense.

42

Baltimore

 QB, DL, OL

Bryant Johnson, WR, Penn St.

Baltimore may add a WR here, if they haven’t done so already. They were thin last year, but Travis Taylor is coming on strong, but they can still use a young speedster.

43

Seattle

 OL, DL

Michael Haynes, DE, Penn St.

The Seahawks will look at an LB here as Anthony Simmons will leave via free agency. Other options are a DB or OG.

44

St. Louis

 OL, LB

Angelo Crowell, LB, Virginia

The Rams may grab a second OL here as 7 of 8 linemen are free agents this season. They may also need a DB as there are many question marks in the secondary.

45

Washington

 WR, DL

Ricky Manning Jr, CB, UCLA

The Redskins may look to replace Smoot who they traded to Cincy. Darrell Green is gone leaving a big gap on defense. Other options include a DE and an OG.

46

Buffalo

RB, LB

Dewayne White, DE,  Louisville

The Bills may look to a WR here as Josh Reed becomes the #2. That leaves them without a great #3. Their defense can use more help as well, primarily LB and DL.

47

San Diego

OL, WR, DB

Mike Doss, S, Ohio St.

The Chargers will need to replace key vets in the secondary after their cap cuts. If a top DT is on the board that’s an option, but expect a DB here.

48

Kansas City

DB, DL, LB

Gerald Hayes, LB, Pitt

The Chiefs will look at DE’s and LB’s here. If a top DB stands out they may snatch him up, but the smart money says a DE.

49

New Orleans

OL, LB, DB

Ken Hamlin, S, Arkansas

The Saints will look at a DB here. There is a chance that they take another LB or even an OL.

50

Miami

 OL, LB, WR

Brandon Lloyd, WR, Illinois

The Dolphins main need is obviously WR. Chris Carter and Orande Gadsen are likely gone. There is a chance an OL or DL can go here, but it’s almost certain a young WR will be taken here.

 51

New England

RB, LB

Larry Johnson, RB, Penn St.

The Patriots will continue to focus on  defense here. There is a chance that a WR can go here as well as an RB, but there has to be a good player that has fallen for that to happen.

52

Denver

 DL, DB

Tyler Brayton, DE, Colorado

The Broncos cut 7 veterans, so they will have to draft well to not feel the ramifications. One need will be a stout DL. If one isn’t available, a young LB is a possibility.

53

Cleveland

 OL, DB

Ben Johnson, OT, Wisconsin

The Browns will look here at LB’s and OL’s. If a top player falls the Browns may snag him regardless of position, but cap cuts may cause a need for an LB.

54

NY Jets

 DB, OL

Calvin Pace, DT, Wake Forest

The Jets may need a FB if both of their FA’s leave. Its too early for a FB, so a DL or DB is likely here.’

55

Buffalo

RB, LB

Tony Pashos, OT, Illinois

The Bill second pick in round 2 will be a DB to help in a weak spot. After getting burned in the secondary this is a major need.

56

Indianapolis

 OL, DB, DL

DeJaun Groce, CB, Nebraska

The Colts will look at a defensive player here. Chances are it will be a DB or a pass rushing DL. They will lose Mike Peterson to FA so it’s possible to see an LB go.

57

NY Giants

 DL, OL

Terrance Edwards, WR, Georgia

The Giants grabbed an OT in round 1, so a DL here is likely. Other options include a young, fast LB.

58

San Francisco

 OL, LB

LaMarcus McDonald, LB, TCU

The 49ers will invest here in a young OL. With an aging line, they can’t afford to ignore the need for youth. Other options are an LB or WR.

59

Pittsburgh

 OL, DB

Troy Polamula, S, USC

The Steelers may grab an OL here, but another DB isn’t out of the question. Other options include a DL or TE.

60

Tennessee

  OL, LB

Montrae Holland, OG, FSU

The Titans needs will change depending on who they cut to get under the cap. They may look at a TE or even an RB. I am guessing the best chance will be an OL.

61

Green Bay

 OL, DL

Kevin Williams, DT, Oklahoma St.

The Packers may grab an OL here to help with depth, but I will guess a DL will go as they may cut up to 3 veterans at this position.

62

Philadelphia

 LB, RB

Eric Manning, DT, Oregon St.

The Eagles will invest in a DL here. There is a chance they will take a DB if they move Al Harris. Another outside chance has a WR going here.

63

Oakland

 DL, DB

Clifton Smith, LB, Syracuse

Oakland will turn their attention here to defense where it’s likely a DB will be taken. This was a troublesome spot last year, but Woodson and Buchanan should be healthy which will give a little room to draft a DL.

64

Tampa Bay

 DB, OL

Torrin Tucker, OG, Southern Miss

The Bucs may need a center if their all pro -Christy leaves. Look for a center or guard to go here.

65

Cincinnati

 DB, OL,

Dave Ragone, QB, Louisville

The Bengals finally have a good foundation for their secondary. If they keep Takeo Spikes (which they won’t) they will have a great LB/DB lineup. A good DL can make their defense a good contender.

66

Detroit

 OL, DB, LB

Musa Smith, RB, Georgia

The Lions may grab the WR they passed on earlier. Other options include an RB or LB. It’s also possible they will grab another DB.

67

Houston

OL,  WR

Antwaan Peek, LB, Cincinnati

Houston may grab a FB here as well as a DE/LB. The Texans have multiple picks for the next several rounds, so they can afford to gamble here and there.

68

Chicago

 QB, OL

Eugene Wilson, CB, Illinois

The Bears may need to grab a DB to bolster their secondary. Other options include a DT or LB.

69

Dallas

 RB, OL

Rod Babers, CB, Texas

The Cowboys may grab a backup QB here to push Chad Hutchinson. They may also grab a WR to compliment Antonio Bryant.

70

Arizona

 QB, WR, RB

Kavika Mitchell, LB, South Florida

The Cardinals will look at defense here. Possibly a DB or DT. Wendell Bryant and Kyle Van de Bosch will be good this season, and Duane Starks cant do any worse. The defense will be adequate, but can use some young talent.

71

Minnesota

 DL, LB, DB

Doug Gabriel, WR, Central Florida

The Vikings have grabbed a pair of top defensive standouts, so an offensive weapon isn’t out of the question here. It’s likely the best player on the board will go here.

72

Jacksonville

WR, LB

Derrick Roche, OG, WSU

The Jaguars may grab an OL if  no other prospect stands out. The team can use a DB along with a young DE to finish of a great young DL.

73

Dallas (From Carolina)

RB, OL

Onterrio Smith, RB, Oregon

Dallas may invest in the DB they have been looking for. Other options are a young RB and a young LB.

74

Baltimore

 OL, DL

Sherko Haji-Rasouli, OG, Miami

The Ravens will possibly grab a DB here as they may need to add depth. Other options include an OL to give the line needed youth.

75

Seattle

 QB, DL, OL

Ivan Taylor, CB Louisiana-Lafayette

The Seahawks will conclude day one by drafting a DB or another LB. They may look at an OL here too.

76

St. Louis

 OL, LB

Jeff Faine, C,    Notre Dame

The Rams may grab an LB or even another OL depending on their free agent moves. If Ernie Conwell leaves, which is unlikely, they may look at TE’s.

77

Cincinnati (From Washington)

 DB, OL,

Clint Mitchell, DE, Florida

The Bengals final pick on day 1, will likely be an OL. They have done well so far, for their defense. Now things will focus on offense.

78

Buffalo

RB, LB

Al Johnson, C, Wisconsin

The Bills may look at OL’s here, but I suspect they will continue to grab defensive prospects form here on out, with an occasional offensive backup.

79

San Diego

OL, WR, DB

Antonio Garay, DE, Boston College

The Chargers replaced Harrison with Doss, but still need help on defense. Always a top defense, they can use a DL here.

80X

New Orleans

OL, LB, DB

Jason Witten, TE, Tennessee

The Saints will look to supplement their offense with this pick. They may take an OL or even another WR. I am betting they even look at an RB with this pick, if not the following one.

81

New Orleans

 OL, LB, DB

Dan Klecko, DE, Temple

Here the Saints will grab the best player among the for mentioned positions. They will have filled their immediate needs, so this pick could be a number of players.

82

Miami

 OL, LB

Mario Haggan, LB, Miss. St

The Dolphins have few picks this draft, so they need to make each one count. Here I suspect an OL or a young QB. Its also possible to see a DL go.

83XX

Houston

RB, LB

Kindal Moorehead, DE, Alabama

The Texans may look at a young QB here to back up David Carr. Other options include an FB, LB/DE, or even a WR.

84

New England

 DL, DB

Shaun McDonald, WR, Az. St.

The Patriots may look back at offense for a WR, but its more likely that they grab a DB here.

85

Denver

 OL, DB

Sam Rayburn, DT, Tulsa

The Broncos will continue to replace the vets they lost. Look for another young DL r LB to go here.

86

Cleveland

 DB, OL

Lance Briggs, LB, Arizona

The Browns will finish day 1 with an LB or DB. I am guessing they will look at an LB as Miller and Rudd may be gone next year.

87

NY Jets

DL, WR

Drayton Florence, CB, Tuskegee

The Jets will look at DB’s and LB’s here. With a solid trio of starters at LB I am guessing they take a DB which is more needy of help.

88XXX

Houston

 OL, DB, DL

Ovie Mughelli, FB, Wake Forest

The Texans will call it a day after this pick. Look for them to fill the FB position here if they haven’t done so already.

89

Indianapolis

 DL, OL

Jimmy Wilkerson, DE, Oklahoma

The Colts will look at a TE here as they sorely missed Ken Dilger. Other possibilities are LB and DL. Chances are they grab a pass rushing DT.

90

NY Giants

 OL, LB

Anthony Adams, DT, Penn State

The Giants will grab a DL here. If they don’t, they may grab a young LB, but DL has a greater need for a young body.

91

San Francisco

 OL, DB

Mike Kuykendall, OG,  Oregon St.

The 49ers will likely grab a DT here. There is a chance they grab a young DB, but their biggest need is on the DL.

92

Pittsburgh

  OL, LB

Wayne Hunter, OT, Hawaii

The Steelers will look here at OL’s and DL’s. They will lose Wayne Gandy and can always use depth on the defensive front. I am guessing their offensive line is their main concern at this point.

93

Tennessee

 OL, LB, DE

Bam Hardman, LB, Florida

The Titans will look at an LB here as there may be a roster spot open. If they pass on an LB look for a DB to get drafted, but they really can use an LB more.

94

Green Bay

 LB, RB

Charles Tillman, CB, Louisiana-Lafayette

The Packers will grab either an LB or DB here. Chances are they fill their DB need via free agency so look for an LB to go here.

95

Philadelphia

 DL, DB

Korey Banks, CB, Miss. St.

The Eagles may look to fill offensive needs here. Although they have no glaring needs they can use a OL or TE due to Chad Lewis lack of production the past 2 years.

96

Oakland

 DL, DB

Shalimar Jackson, OG, New Mexico State

The Raiders will finish of their 1st day looking to fill the void they will have after cutting ties with Barrett Robins. There is a chance they will keep Robbins, but either way they need help on the OL.
