It's hard to believe that I've been living in New Mexico since 2006, have had this website since 2003, and haven't updated anyone much about either of them. How time flies by!
I moved out here from Las Vegas for better money (working in the oil field), and for the much lower cost of living. Living in a small town (pop. 30,000) took a little getting use to at first, but I guess that I am getting to the age where I can appreciate the peace and quiet that you can't find in the big city. In August 2007, I finally achieved a long-time plan of travelling to Europe. I was able to visit some friends in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, a former republic of the USSR. It was a great trip and I was there for the Ukrainian Independence Day on August 24. It was their 16th Independence Day. You can see all the photos on the link above.
Finally found the time to visit the Carlsbad Caverns, 30 miles down the street. I guess that I've been spending too much time travelling around Texas and Europe to take the journey half-hour down the road! I have gone past it a few times before, though ... |
