Slot Canyon Salad We walked in the cool slot canyon, feeling quiet, intermittent drafts.   We looked up and saw blue sky in some places and orange sandstone in others.  In yet others we saw how delicate greens flourished between the blistering heat of the desert above and the dark, cold floor of the slot canyon.  Canyon wrens flitted in and out singing a song of descending notes.   We didn't really make a salad.
