IRC is known as Internet Relay Chat where the Sweet Mystics are located. Our server is Sorcery and our clearing channel is #soulwolves.

Connecting to IRC;
In order to connect to IRC, you will need to either download an IRC Program or use a web-based IRC Client.

Try it out! If you are not connected, reload this page and type in your Nick and you're ready to go!

The most common IRC Program used by the Pack Members is mIRC. To read more about how to use mIRC and to download it visit the mIRC website at http://www.mirc.com/

Connecting to the Sorcery Server;
Once you have mIRC or are using a web-based IRC client, you need to connect to the Sorcery server. Some commonly used servers include: irc.sorcery.net, kechara.sorcery.net, shire.sorcery.net, nexus.sorcery.net A list of Sorcery servers can be found Here.Ports to use are 6667-7000.

To connect Type: /server servername.sorcery.net:port

For Example:
/server irc.sorcery.net:6668

Registering to Nickserv;
1. Change to the nick you want by typing /nick [nick]

Example:
/nick Wolf

2.Type: /msg nickserv register [password] [e-mail address]

For Example:
/msg nickserv register wolf123 wolf@packmail.com

You need to check your e-mail to complete the registration process.

Identifying to Nickserv;
Type: /msg nickserv identify [password]

For Example:
/msg nickserv identify wolf123

An easy way to identify automatically to nickserv every time you connect:
Go to File--->Options--->IRC. Under IRC, go to Perform then check the Box where it says "On Connect, perform these commands." Then cut and paste /msg nickserv identify [password] in the text box, making sure to replace [password] with your own password.

Joining the Channel:
To join TimberMyst Clearing Type: /join #soulwolves

Ghost Commands and retrieving your nick ;
A ghost happens when you disconnect and then reconnect to find your 'nickname' is still on IRC. If this happens you can do one of two things:

1. Type: /msg nickserv ghost [nickname] [password]

For Eample:
/msg nickserv ghost Wolfie wolf123
Or
2. Type: /msg nickserv recover [nickname] [password] followed by /msg nickserv release [nickname]

For Example:
/msg nickserv recover Wolfie wolf123
/msg nickserv release Wolfie

Using AutoVoice to automatically voice users in mIRC;
mIRC has an AutoVoice feature. What this does is if you have OPS in a channel (Full Pack Member) and a matching user joins the channel, they will automatically be voiced after a short delay of some 1-7 seconds. A wolf within #soulwolves is only voiced if they are an Assessment or Honored Guest.

The following instructions show how to manage AutoVoice and keep it up to date. For more info look up HELP and search for AUTOVOICE. Below are the "How To", the correct settings for all current assessments and important notes.

How to add or remove an AutoVoice Entry:
1.. Start mIRC
2.. Go to the address book (Tools --> Address)
There are options along the top: Address, Info, Notify, Control, Nick Go to the "Control" page
3.. Select "Voice" in the top box ("List Type")
Make sure that both "Enabled" and "Random Delay Op/Voice" are selected (checked)
4.. One by one click on ADD to add the 8 entries listed below. For each entry you will be prompted to enter "Address" and "Channels"
5.. The address is each assessment's name and network Example: For Aquene, the address would be entered as: Aquene*!dragonwolf@*.nettally.com
6.. The channel is always "#soulwolves"
7.. When you have finished, click OK.
8.. You can always add more, using the same procedure in future.
9.. To remove or edit an autovoice entry, use the EDIT and REMOVE buttons to the right of the list
