Real Adventure

Hello to all! The name is John and I am a long time traveler and started adventuring in the military service back in 1980. I was born in North Carolina in the 60s . My parents are of Irish, Native American, German and Norwegian bloodlines. I grew up in the Southern U.S. on a farm until I was 9 years of age. Mom and I moved to Denver Colorado; I lived in Denver for about 18 months total then I moved back to North Carolina and lived there for 8 more years. My Father was in the Airforce and inspired me to join military service.

I decided to join the Navy at 17 years of age. Navy duties began on Feb 18 1980 a few days after my 17th birthday. I was shipped off to Orlando Florida for boot camp 11 weeks, and then electronics school for 9 months. My Last duty station I received was Norfolk Virginia naval station. My duty station was onboard a aircraft carrier . I lived aboard ship for about three years . My post on this warship was the deck. It was very dangerous and fun for me I did enjoy the excitement. The Eisenhower(ship) visited many countries Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Egypt, Israel, France, and the Virgin Islands. When I was discharged from the Navy I traveled around America for a couple of years. I ended up in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1987 until now. I love travel and adventure read on and you shall see some intresting places. …

I write to you about my thoughts and impressions of last adventure in the country of Ukraine. I will say at first I loved it and will return, it was very nice. I meet a lady from Ukraine, she is real person with the biggest heart, she spent her time and money on me and made my stay there in Kharkiv very nice! The focus here is to point out you must take a chance and just do it! Plan your trip well and check to see if it is a solid plan. Do not fail to plan your trip or you will fail to enjoy yourself and be upset with trip. Do expect to wait and stand in line that is life! Be realistic in your expectations, plans and expenses you are a guest in a foreign country be sharp and make no foolish moves.

Pay for all hotels and travel expenses first and make sure you have good language skills or hire a guide to help you with day trips, I was very lucky to have friends in the City of Kharkiv to help with travel and guide me along the right path. They were very nice to me and take me into their home and offices. They are the best friends now and close to my heart. Thank you Angelica, Slava, Helen, Yuri, Olga, Svetlana, Yulia and DJ; these persons make my trip to the Ukraine the best!

I see, smell and taste many things in the Ukraine, the food was very good and not expensive. Many shops, services and things to do in the city of Kharkiv. The city was the capital until 1930 I was told; It is full of history and very old city. Kharkiv is good base of operations to work from and less expensive than capital city Kiev. Hotel Kharkiv is good start, it is located in safe part of town and has the best access to services that I found during my short stay in country. There are bars, clubs and shops within few meters of front door with a Internet cafe next door to hotel.

This is to my Angel: I miss you so much Angelica! Thank you so much from deep in my heart you have touched me softly and with such kindness; your honest words, true actions show me that you are the very best person inside with a big true heart! I miss you very much and enjoyed our time together. You are very special to me and will live in my heart forever your my true friend! My life became better because of my Angel from the city of Kharkiv your name is written in my heart.

My Ukraine trip was great adventure and I am better person now wiser full of life dreams, and hope. What can I say to you that read this; only this take a chance try it take a trip to that place and see for yourself that Ukraine's are very much like you and I and have same needs wants and desires. Do not fool yourself though into thinking it will be easy to find love there because it is not. How can you expect to find love if you have troubles with girls in your country. Go there to find love if you not afraid to talk and flirt and have fun with girls, and sit down face to face over some wine and speak heart to heart open all doors and be honest and yourself and you will be at your best to find good person. Be strong and be a honest man or woman be straight with your words and wise with your heart. I am very lucky person and GOD has bless my life with a some very close friends and one little sister I found in Kharkiv. Take care all and be of kind heart and open minds and we all will live longer!!
