The general consenus of archeologists and anthropologists has been that a particular rock writing had significance only to the writer, his family, or, at most, his tribe. But, like many others who have been drawn again and again to these mysterious markings, I felt the answer must involve much more than this.
These ancient and not-so-ancient people were busy eking out a means of life, day after day,
often in harsh land. Why would they take the time and spend the energy to carve these
these drawings, often very intricate, if indeed they meant so little?"
