The Cabbits of Tenchi Muyo!
Simply put, cabbits are meowing, carrot munching, shapeshifting fluffballs. They are exactly what they sound like- half cat, half rabbit. They can transform into spaceships at a command, and are very emotional and sensitive. They are outgoing and friendly, and make good pets as long as you don't hurt their feelings. When you do, make sure you have a carrot handy to make it up to them! And since they ARE at least half cat, they get a spot at Neko Central! Although there are countless cabbits across the universe, the Tenchi Muyo series (all of them) focus on two. These two are Ryo-ohki and Ken-ohki. Both of them have varying roles from series to series, which are explained in their mini-profiles below.
RYO-OHKI---
This little mouse-brown cabbit has the starring role (cabbit wise) throughout every one of the multiple Tenchi Muyo! series. In the OAV, (I'm not sure on this) she was temporarily Ryoko's, but soon came to be seen by Sasami as a pet. In Tenchi Universe, Ryo-ohki's role is nearly the same, with the exception being that she becomes Ryoko's in name only. She truly ends up being completely devoted to Sasami in the end. In the experimental Magical Girl Pretty Sammy, which was renamed Magical Project S here in the US, Ryo-ohki never was Ryoko's to begin with. She was always Sasami's. Aside from the confusion of ownership, Ryo-ohki's personality never really changes. She's always perky and happy, meowing and hopping about. And now for her counter part...
KEN-OHKI---
Ken-ohki, the scruffy off-white love of Ryo-ohki's life. However, it's kind of Romeo and Juliet relationship. Ken-ohki belongs to the bounty hunter Nagi, sworn enemy of Ryoko. At least in Tenchi Universe... I haven't seen him in any other series of Tenchi. If you know more about this little guy, drop me a line! Thankz!
