From Murder Case Transcripts: July 21, 1995 - Quote: Applications Page 3 & 4 1. April of 1991, Alfredo Li had an unlicensed gun in the glove compartment of his car.

2. In August, 1991 Alfredo Li was playing around with Linda Burgos in his car and he put a gun to Linda's head while he held her in a headlock.

3. In a parking lot in a nightclub in Staten Island Alfredo Li took out a gun and displayed it at some women that were in an arguement with all the passengers in his car.

Quote: Applications Page 7 & 8 - Prosecution: These incidents of gun possesion corroborate the defendant's statement on the videotape with respect to his possession of a weapon.

Prosecution: The May incident, the August incident in which he was struggling with the victim, goes part of the motive in this case, his need to exercise physical control over her. It's an incident where he's struggling with the victim; he pulls it out; he's holding it against her head; they're struggling , whether a play fight or not, they're struggling and he's got this loaded gun to her head, and yet, in those circumstances, nothing happens, no gun goes off, which contradicts his version of the incidents on the videotape, goes against his claim that it was pure accident, because you have almost a re-enactment of the same incident where nothing happens, and so that goes to his intent, which we're going to prove extrinsically from the videotape as to the actual shooting.

This is another article of the crime... Quote: The New York Post - 08/07/92 Cops: Obsessed S.I. man killed teen girl A Staten Island man has been charged with the murder of an aspiring teen actress whose (out) body was found in a parking lot in Manhattan's Chelsea section last week, police said.

Alfredo Li, 32, of 56 Bellhaven Place on Staten Island, knew the victim, 18-year-old (Quote: Linda Burgos) of Brooklyn, for two years, and had been acting as her manager, according to Officer Peter Friscia.

Li, who worked as a bicycle messenger, became obsessed with the teen-ager, and "this obsession culminated in her murder," said Sgt. Tina Mohrmann, a police spokeswoman. The body of Burgos, who had been shot in the head, was found July 29 behind the building at 160 W. 25th St. Li was charged with second degree murder, Mohrmann said.

Quote: Not only did the criminal work for a Postal Delivery Service but was part of the mortgage of the house in Staten Island, owned a car, owned a large commercial truck, and was part of a pro-con business with several clubs around the city.

This article was published by The New York Times - August 7, 192 - Quote: Woman's Quest for Fame Ends in Death in the Night - Suspect Said to be Obsessed With Victim - It was last week, just another gruesome, unsolved murder in Manhattan: a nameless teen-age girl, shot in the head (out)in a parking lot in Chelsea in the dead of the night. A couple of days later, the case began to take on tragic substance. The police had sifted through the missing persons' reports and her family (Quote: mother, stepsisters and friends) had gone down to the morgue. The victim was identified as (Quote: Linda Burgos) of Brooklyn, an 18-year-old aspiring actress, model and dancer. Yesterday, the drama deepened and the veil of mystery parted further as the police charged a quite - some say timid - Staten Island deliveryman in the slaying and called the killing the culmination of his two year obsession with the young woman, who, they said, he had lured in the guise of a theatrical agent with rainbow promises of fame and fortune. It had been the same with other young women, including some acquaintances of Ms. Burgos, detectives said, and it was that pattern - and her family and friends' account of his obsession with her - that had led investigators to the suspect, 32-year-old Alfredo Li. Regular Communication "He would approach a pretty girl and present himself as an agent over a period of time," said Capt. James O'Neil, the commander of Second Division Detectives in Manhattan. "If she could sing or if she could dance, he would say he could introduce her to the right persons. But first he would say he needed pictures, and then he would suggest that the girl show a little more skin. "A quietly ambitious woman who wanted to act and dance. Captain O'Neill, quoting relatives and friends of the victim, said Mr. Li often telephoned Ms. Burgos daily, sometimes more than once a day, usually with suggestions and promises of contracts that would spark her career. She was not interested in him romantically, relatives and friends told the investigators, but she agreed to meet him occasionally when she thought he wold introduce her to someone important in the performing arts or the world of modeling. It was unclear what went wrong in their last meeting, the police said. But at 1:15 A.M. on July 29, a cabdriver spotted (out) Ms. Burgos's body, clad only in blue socks and some jewelry, an earring and an unusual necklace with a dangling figurine. She had been shot once in the head.

An Aspiring Actress - Ms. Burgos who had shared an apartment in recent months with another young woman at 198 Bond Street in the Gowanus Houses in Brooklyn, was remembered by neighbors yesterday as a tall, quiet but ambitious person who wanted to be an actress, a model or a dancer. "She was a pretty, young girl," one neighbor said of Ms. Burgos, who, she said, had shared Apartment 3F with a roommate for four or five months. The police said Ms. Burgos family (Quote: mother and stepsisters) lives in Queens. Investigators said they believed Ms. Burgos was a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, on 27th Street near Seventh Avenue in... Police say a supposed agent lured a hopeful actress over two years... Manhattan, where they interviewed acquaintances of hers. But school officials said they had no record of Ms. Burgos as a student at H.S. of Fashion Industries, on 23th Street near Seventh Avenue in Manhattan). The victim's body was identified by family members (Quote: mother and stepsisters) who had filed a missing person's report with the 76th Precinct in Brooklyn after her disappearance and who asked the authorities not to release their names and addresses. Several acquaintances of Ms. Burgos who are student at the institute, the police said, told investigators that Mr. Li had posed as a theatrical agent and made promises of introductions to important people in the arts. They told investigator's he had met Ms. Burgos about two years ago, had used the same "line" with her and had become obsessed with her, detectives said. Mr. Li, apparently aware that the police wanted to question, went to the 13th Precinct at 230 East 21st Street at 11:45 P.M. Wednesday and was later charged with second-degree homicide in Ms. Burgos death. Investigators said it was unclear precisely when and where Ms. Burgos was killed. No gun was recovered, the police said, and the victim's clothing was not found. The arrest stunned neighbors and fellow workers of Mr. Li, a short, slightly built man who lives with his mother and several sisters in a two family home at 56 Bellhaven Place in Willowbrook, Staten Island and works as an independent delivery contractor for Manhattan Area Post, an overnight package and mail delivery concern at 530 West 25th Street. "Al Li was a quiet kind of person, humble, timid, not aggressive in any way," said an owner of Manhattan Area Post, who asked not to be identified. He said Mr. Li, who owned his own silver-colored delivery van, had worked for the company for about six months. He could not give a previous work history. On the job Mr. Li never talked about his private life, the owner said. "In hindsight, "I don't want to say he was a nice chap, but he was a pleasant fellow." And if the charges are accurate, he added, "certainly a Jekyll-and-Hyde character." No one answered the door at Ms. Burgos's apartment yesterday. On a nearby wall in the hallway, someone had scrawled with a green marker: "Linda, I will never forget you!" It was unclear if this was the anguish of a friend or the theme of an obsession.

REPORT ON CONVICTED PRISONER, DISTRICT ATTORNEY OF NEW YORK COUNTY - NYSID #: 4520918J, Crime[s] Charged: Murder 2 Degree, CPW 2 Degree, CPW 3 Degree, Disposition: Manslaughter 2 Degree, CPW 2 Degree and CPW 3 Degree, Plea: Trial, Indict.#: 7856/92, Inmate #: 96-R-0186, Sentence: 5 to 15, concurrent with 5 to 15 and 2 to 6, Judge: Atlas.

DETAILS OF OFFENSE: "Quote" Defendant was the "manager" of Linda Burgos' singing and modeling career. When she decided to break their management contract, Defendant became upset. They arranged a meeting to return to Burgos some property she had left in defendant's van. At the meeting, defendant shot Linda Burgos in the head. Killing her. The gunshot wound had been a contact wound, execution style, to the head. Although the defendant held himself out to be a successful events promoter and manager, in fact he drove a dilapidated delivery truck for a messenger service. The defendant should serve the maximum sentence possible for setting into motion the chain of events which caused the death of Linda Burgos. The defendant is the direct cause of extinguishing an innocent life. During the trial, the defendant, through his attorney, attempted to smear the victim and blame the victim, who was completely without fault under any theory of the case. This tragedy does mark the first time that the defendant has been involved in violent incidents with guns. He was convicted in Minnesota of arm robbery. Twice more, the defendant brandished a weapon in the presences of the victim and her friends, once at the victim, and once at some other people. In neither instance did the defendant act in self defense. Defendant was also arrested for robbery in Queens. During the execution of a search warrant in the defendant's home at the time of his arrest, the detectives found many magazines related to guns, as well as handcuffs. It is clear from his prior convictions and bad acts that he has exhibited anti-social behavior which poses a threat to law abiding people. Li was shown mercy by the jury, which only convicted him of Manslaughter 2nd degree. He was shown mercy by the Court at sentence, who did not sentence him to consecutive prison time as requested by the People. He deserves no further sympathy by the granting of early parole. Kerry O'Connell, Assistant District Attorney, March 11, 1997.

District Attorney's Office of the City of New York. Alfredo E. Li was deported to Peru on March 26, 2003 after completing his jail sentence in Woodbourne Correctional Facility. The District Attorney's Office in New York spoke to INS in Washington, DC and they assured that he was handed over to Peruvian authorities once he landed. The District Attorney's office don't know what the Peruvian authorities did with him from there on. Alfredo Li will never again be able to legally enter the United States. August 22, 2006.

DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK: ALFREDO LI WILL NEVER AGAIN BE ABLE TO LEGALLY ENTER THE UNITED STATES, AUGUST 22, 2006. As of this date 2020, we do not know if he is in Peru or has entered the United States undetected by law enforcement agents and autorities. A look-up track is recommended and should be placed in the database.

Embassy of Peru, Javier Sánchez Checa Salazar, Counselor, Head of the Political Department, 1700 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington DC 20036 USA. The Embassy of Peru has verified that Mr. Alfredo Ernesto LI-TAM was deported from the United States on March 26, 2003, after serving his jail sentence at the Woodbourne Correctional Facility in New York. In accordance with the information obtained from the database of the Division of Migration and Naturalization from the Ministry of Interior of Peru. On November 1, 2004, Mr. Li traveled to Brazil and returned to Peru on November 28, 2004. Jorge Izaguirre, March 24, 2008.

(ANOTHER CON ARTIST LIKE HIS CLIENT... JACK T. LITMAN DEFENSE LAWYER FOR "PEOPLE v. ALFREDO E. LI IS DEAD AT 66")

Jack Theodore Litman (July 26, 1943 – January 23, 2010)[1] was a criminal defense lawyer most famous for his "blame the victim" defense of Robert Chambers, Jr. (the "Preppie Killer"). While intellectual and cool in the courtroom, he adopted the strategy of soliciting juries' sympathies for the perpetrators of even the most horrible murders. The tactics used in the Preppy Killer trial earned him scathing criticisms from many quarters, including victims' rights advocates, feminists, and the family of the victims. He died at age 66 in January, 2010, of lymphoma, a disease he had suffered for more than ten years.

LINDA'S STORY ON THE REELZ CHANNEL M2-PICTURES, VA

From Lawanda Edwards m2-pictures. Dear Mr. Joseph Burgos: We are doing a show for the Reelz Channel and are interested in telling Linda’s story. The show is about people who were on a successful path to stardom and due to unfortunate dangerous circumstances, fell into the wrong hands, which lead to their death; before the world got to know and appreciate their talent. The main purpose of the show is to tell the victims and families story in a way that lets the world know who that person was, letting the family tell their side and let the world know that this could happen to anyone. The most interesting part about Linda’s story is that she was part of an artistic family and every step of her upbringing was nurturing of her talent. More often than not, we only hear about the tragic tales of the ultra famous or famous family members but never of the people who are starting out and focused on a goal and a dream, which is what we want to highlight with her story. Any assistance, any information you may have in relation to the family or possibly, pointing me in a new direction would be great. Linda’s story is tragic to say the least but I am hoping to get the right information from the family to help us and them, tell her story, their way. Lawanda Edwards Researcher. Hi Mr. Burgos, It is a pleasure to hear from you and I thank you for getting back to me. I should first give you a bit of information about the show and what our goal is in telling Linda’s story. The show is being produced by us for the Reelz Channel. We are highlighting stories of young people who were destined for stardom and fame. Whether that meant growing up, having a nurtured background or moving to California in search of a career, we want to tell the story from the perspective of the family and insiders involved who can shed light on the lives that were cut short, too soon. I am in the early stages of research and while the story is not yet approved we think that Linda’s story is interesting and one that could potentially be told for our show. There is no guarantee that we will tell the story but I would like to find out more about your daughter, in hopes that we can tell the story. I would love to set up a time to speak with you and get some background information on your family, Linda and hear from you personally about her training in New York; anything that you are willing and comfortable sharing. If you are still interested, please let me know and maybe we can set up a time to talk next week. Thank you again, Lawanda Edwards.
