Beautiful Beadwork Inspired by THE AIR,
THE SEA, and THE EARTH
Amulet purses, Body Adornments, Objects of Wearable Art, Coiled
Sculpture, and other Contemporary Beadwork Jewelry Items designed
by Rainbow, Sunny Rose and their mother, Helen. Necklaces, amulet
purses, bracelets, earrings, either geometrical or abstract made
with a variety of seed beads, natural items, designer glass beads,
Chech glass beads, semi-precious and precious stones, fresh water
pearls, precious metals, and any other item or inclusion that will
spark the imagination, dazzle the eye and inspire the wearer. The
colors and techniques are endless. Each new design is an adventure.
What is Contemporary Beadwork?
Beadwork is present in many cultures as decorative art, jewelry or
functional items. Evidence of beadwork is not only found among the
Native American Culture, but in the Bedouin, Japanese, African, Chech,
and many other communities. Today, we take our influence and inspiration
from all of these groups and more to create a look that is uniquely
contemporary and modern but still has some of the influence of the
wonderful beadwork that originated with all of these groups.
We utilize all manner of natural precious and semi-precious stones,
pearls and other items found in the sea, feathers, stering silver,
antique pieces, and from time to time the beautiful glass beads
of today's bead artists. Many of our pieces have a featured item,
bead or theme. Some designs may be spontaneous abstracts and free
form. We use many of the traditional beadwork techniques and stitches,
yet we have been known to create new ones. Much of this work features
surface embellishments and other three dimensional inclusions. They
are as beautiful to wear as they are to proudly display as a piece
of fine artwork.
