I have contacted UpJohn by both phone and a letter. I received a reporting form from them, asking me to fill out the information, so that they may report the side-effects of Depo to the F.D.A. I had informed them in my letter that I had already reported to the F.D.A. I filled out their form and returned it. I also asked them to reply to me in the next 30 days, with a way to reverse the side effects of Depo. The 30 days was up on May 7, 2000 and I did not hear from them.
I also reported my side effects to the F.D.A. I received a form letter from them, thanking me for reporting my problems, but telling me that they will not even begin to invesigate until they receive several complaints.
I reported my side effects to the California and Nevada Attorney General, I lived in California at the time of my shots, and now Nevada. Nevada forwarded my complaint to Michigan, since they are the agency that will handle consumer complaints against companies in their state. They sent me a letter stating that they can't do anything about UpJohn, because it is a drug problem and to report it to the F.D.A. California told me that they will keep my report in a file, incase they have any further problems with UpJohn, and need it for legal information.
Suggs & Kelly lawfirm is still investigating Depo, and they are not sure if they are going to take the case or not. They have been trying to decide for over a year now.
I feel like I am getting the run around from everyone. I have decided to go public, and at the least, I will hopefully discourage some women from taking Depo. I have emailed the Oprah Winfrey Show and began writing letters to the editors of newspapers, telling my story.
If anyone has any other helpful information, please let me know.
I reported Pharmacia & UpJohn to the Better Business Bureau (please see contact page for the address) and they replied stating that this is the jurisdiction of the FDA. I told them about not getting any response from the FDA or UpJohn, so they are going to investigate my claim.
I have also learned some new information regarding the lawsuit. According to a friend of mine, the United States is going to be divided up into three regions (Western, Central, and Eastern). Three separate law firms are going to handle the cases, depending on where you live. They are:

There is also an online chat group for depo-users. It is through Globe Clubs at www.theglobe.com and search for Depo-Provera.
I have also begun to use herbal remedies for my infertility and to try to induce ovulation. I plan on continuing with these for six months or so, before I try clomide and/or perganol.
If anyone needs anything, please let me know. Or if you have any additional information, please contact me.
They are going to claim deceptive advertisement against UpJohn. Since the slogan for depo is "the birth control you think about just four times a year" and those of us who are suffering from the effects of depo, think about it daily, it is deceptive. They are filing in California first, since it has less restrictions and if the suit is won, other states will follow. If you are interested in further information, please email me.

This is just an update to let everyone know that I haven't forgetten about the lawsuit. The attorneys are still working on writing and filing the complaint in California Court. As with any governmental process, this takes time. I just want to let everyone know that we are still working on this.
If anyone needs anything, support, suggestions, or just a friend to talk to about Depo or anything, let me know. Feel free to email me at any time.
I will try to keep this site updated more often.
October 23, 2000 I will be out of town on vacation this week, so it may take me a while to get back to all of you. I just wanted to let you know, so that nobody thinks that I have forgotten about them, or that I just don't care! I wish everyone loads of luck!

I heard from Dee Dee Everett today. They are still awaiting medical records on some of the members involved in the suit. Once they receive everyone's records, they will be able to choose a spokesperson, and the suit can move forward.
If anyone has any other information, let me know.

"The ideal class representative has had problems with bleeding immediately after the Depo shot, reported it to their doctor (therefore, it is in their medical records), and possibly these bleeding patterns might have lead to a D&C or a hysterectomy."
"So if you are willing to be a class representative plaintiff, whose side effects are supported by medical records and able to provide us with those medical records, please email me back immediately (include your side effects and the state you reside in)."
