Bell Creek Canyon
Bell Creek is a very narrow canyon for most of its length. Just at the right time of day, narrow shafts of sunlight can penetrate right to the canyon floor - lighting it all up with a beautiful red glow. |
Early on in the canyon, you have to wade through a few chest-deep pools before you get properly wet... You spend so much time just trying to keep dry, when you will only end up swimming soon enough. |
This is taken at the point where the "classic" Bell Creek constriction section begins - a very long section of extremely narrow canyon, which is swimming (or floating in our case!) for almost all the way. It can get very cold in there. |
This is the junction of Bell Creek and Du Fuars Creek - at the end of Bell Creek Canyon itself. From here on, the journey to the exit down Du Fuars Creek Canyon is significantly wider. |
