The Finesse Game
Juneau played wing most of the season with Adam Oates. A natural centre, even when playing in the middle he gravitates to the left wing and generates most of his scoring chances from there. He varies his play selection. He will take the puck to the net on one rush, then pull up at the top of the circle and hit the trailer late on the next rush. While the circles are his office, Juneau is not exclusively a perimeter player. He will go into traffic. He is bigger than he looks on the ice. His quick feet and light hands make him seem smaller, because he is so crafty with the puck. Laterally, Juneau is among the best skaters in the NHL. He has an extra gear that allows him to pull away from people. He does not have breakaway speed, but he has great anticipation and gets the jump on a defender with his first few steps. Juneau doesn't shoot the puck enough and gets a little intimidated when there is a scramble for a loose puck in front of the net. He is not always willing to sacrifice his body that way. He shoots a tad prematurely. When he could wait and have the goalie down and out, he unloads quickly, because he hears footsteps. His best shot is a one-timer from the left circle. Juneau is fine on draws and forms a solid penalty-killing tandem with Oates, since both read the play and each other so well.

The Physical Game
Juneau has improved his toughness and willingness to take a hit to make a play--probably dressing room osmosis--but he is still something of a featherweight.

The Intangibles
Expect Juneau, a UFA to sign with a French-Canadian team (Ottawa or Montreal) during the off-season.

Projection
Expect Juneau's experience to play a key part in Buffalo's run to the Stanley Cup this season.
