QUADRUPLE OVERTIME WITH NJ

On May 15, 1994, Dominik Hasek was the Dominator in goal for the Buffalo Sabres this season and is going for the Vezina Trophy. In the playoffs against the New Jersey Devils, he almost single-handedly shut down the Devils. Hasek had a 1.97 goals against average in the regular season and almost duplicated those figures in the playoffs. The most memorable game was the 7-period overtime game in which the Sabres outlasted the Devils 1-0. Hasek made 70 saves in that game, and most of them were spectacular. This game will be marked as Hasek's greatest game ever. It was the wee hours of the morning when Dave Hannan eventually scored the game winner at the quarter period mark of the fourth overtime period at 1:52 a.m. of the following morning. Dominik had two shutouts against the Devils in the series. However, the Devils won seventh game of that series to advance in the playoffs.
