The Finesse Game
Cunneyworth has good straight-ahead speed with a decent shot. He sprints. He hustles. He competes hard every night. He played on the second line most of last season. On a stronger team, he would be a perfect third-line checking winger, but the Senators ask him to do much more. He has above-average hand skills and scores most of his goals from in tight around the net. He is a good passer and likes to work give-and-go plays, though at this stage of his career he is not a great finisher. Cunneyworth is also an effective penalty killer and does everything asked of him. He is consistent in his effort.

The Physical Game
Cunneyworth will hit and agitate. He isn't big but he will check and use his body in any zone. He is very annoying to play against.

The Intangibles
Cunneyworth wears the "C" but has already talked about turning over the leadership to the next generation. He's that classy. He gives the Senators everything he has.

Projection
Cunneyworth will probably score around 30 points this season, as he is used more and more in a checking role.
