Bowers Mansion
Sandy Bowers Mansion

This mansion was built by Sandy Bowers
of the
Comstock fame, as one of the orginial
Silver Barons
he made a fortune from the mining claim
that he and
his wife owned jointly. They lived the
high life for
as long as their mine was producing.
They spent
Millions of dollars furnishing the
Mansion with the
best of what Europe had to offer in the
1800's. They
managed to spend themselves right into
the poor
house, before Sandy died in 1874 they
were broke. His
wife was thrown out of the Mansion when
it was
foreclosed on by the bank. The new owner hired Mrs. Bowers as a maid to take care of the Mansion she was once the mistress of, however she was not long employeed as it was difficult for her to adjust to her new duties.
